About the adventure

The sea remembers. The city of Khaleesset floats above the bones of twelve older settlements the water claimed in the centuries that came before. The people have built their lives diving and salvaging knowledge, memory and treasure, all the while knowing that eventually, Khaleesset will join the rest beneath the waves. Recently, no new Tide-Singers have survived the Tide Singer trial, and seven divers have gone down into the Deep below and never resurfaced. Your characters arrive in a city trying very hard not to panic. The Salvage Guilds are paying well for answers. The Drowned-Speakers, dismissed as mad by everyone who hasn't listened closely, insist they already know something. And somewhere beneath the waterline, in cities that sank one at a time across centuries, something is humming a tune that has started showing up in the dreams of people who don't dive. The system we will be using is Pathfinder 2e (I am using Foundry VTT), but you don't need to already know the system to join! I'll help newer players get comfortable with their characters and at the table. This is game is meant to be role play heavy, where the player character actions and choices may have deep and far-reaching consequences. If you are looking for a game with interesting mechanics, extensive lore building and the personal development of your character, I would love to have you at my table. If you enjoy things such as: drowned-city cosmic horror, mystery that rewards curiosity, rewards for being engaged in the lore, and a GM who already knows exactly what's waiting down there, why don't you come sit?

About me

Hi! I'm Raih! I've been GMing for a few years now, but the world I've homebrewed has been alive in my head longer than that; it started as a novel I dreamed of one day publishing, but something never quite clicked until my friends became the characters, and the moment they did, I never looked back. I love world building more than almost anything else at the table. My games are built around worlds that live and breathe — NPCs with their own agendas, lore with real history behind it, places that feel like they existed before the players arrived and will keep existing after they leave. I put a lot of care into the details, but I hold them loosely. If my players fall in love with something I left vague, we build it together. If the story needs the lore to bend, it bends. It is my belief that these are stories we build together. My sessions try for balance combat and roleplay, but I'll be honest; nothing makes me happier than watching players get completely lost in the world. When they start theorizing about the lore, getting attached to NPCs, making choices based on who their character is rather than what's tactically optimal — that's when I know we've got something special. If you want a table that feels like a living world and a GM who's genuinely excited to see what you do in it, you'll fit right in.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can use Pathbuilder from the start, and you are free to have as many drafts as you like, that being said I want to sit down with everyone during session 0 to hammer out the last few details and change or adapt builds for party composition if needed.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I shall send invites to my discord server where the table will have their own secret channel per player, as well as a general channel where you can all discuss and chat. We are using Foundry, so an account is not needed as you access through a browser such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox

What Raih brings to the table

I am a DM who focuses primarily on story telling, world building and I open the door widely to your own character development and impact on the stories I weave. I enjoy creating atmospheric moments, using visuals, descriptions and music. I try to keep my combats interesting and dynamic as much as I am able, and while I respect the rules (most of the time!) I embrace the rule of cool if my players are creative. I enjoy creating my own maps, so many if not most of them will be done by me as well.

Homebrew rules

I start my sessions with two hero points, I award Hero Points like candy when my players engage with lore or do cool things, and I also award Hero Points for my note takers. I give Two Weapon Flurry as a level 1 feat instead of 14 for my two weapon fighting fighters and rogues. Combat maneuvers such as disarm, trip, grapple, shove do not count towards your MAP. I am also willing to adapt other rules if my players present a good argument.

Safety

How Raih creates a safe table

I will go over my safety tools during session 0, especially elements that may be triggering. I do not ask that you disclose what sensitive topics you have openly, but that you do mention them privately to me in discord through a direct message or if time permits I will try to have an entirely anonymous way of disclosing this. My pre-established lines and veils will be mentioned in session 0 and I am very open to adding more in my players need it.
