About the adventure

This campaign was written with themes aimed toward fans of Horrors of all kind. Set in the world of Obrand there lies a civil war amongst its people. This war spawned over the struggles to deal with what is known as Demons. Demons to the people of Obrand are not from the books of old, where they reside from the Infernal or Abyssal realms. They believe these Demons are corrupted elementals from their respected planes. No one knows how they came to be either. The Kingdom of the Cleansed has a philosophy that claims the existance of magic is what draws them. This belief started the civil war after they found a crystal by the name of Smathenite. Smathenite when mixed into water can permanently remove the magic from a persons body. Thus, the Kingdom has been forcing people into their society by drinking this concoction. Will you join the Kingdom, forcing the magic from this world, or will you join one of the sides of the rebellion against them. Adventure through Obrand to find the true reason behind the Demons and put it to an end.

About me

I have been DMing for over a decade for mostly family and friends. During my college years I was running games for the local clubs and stores for fun. As of recent I've been building my own TTRPGs, but I know several systems from: standard DnD 5e and 3.5, Pathfinder 1 and 2e, New WoD, miscellaneous anime flavored systems, and even off the wall systems like Twilight 2k. I see myself as a world builder to tell stories in with the players. I prefer long campaigns over one-shots. I particularly enjoy running multiple campaigns in the same world so other groups and parties can interact and work with it against each other. When it comes to genre I am a huge fan of Horror and creepy themes, but also of grand war games style.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will work together in a Session 0 for character creation. Session 0 will be free. I am open to using all books and some 3rd party content for your character. We will be using Pathbuilder and roll20 for all character sheets. If there is a very specific type of character you wish to play, and there aren't any rules or sources for it, I will be willing to assist in crafting something specific for you.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before Session 0 ensure you have a Discord, Roll20, and Pathbuilder accounts. During Session 0 I will give out a link for my Discord Server for communication. I will be using Camera and Voice through Discord. You must use a mic, but don't need a camera.

What Travis brings to the table

I like to stick to the rules, but if I forget a rule and can't readily find it, I am not afraid to use Rule of Cool. This campaign will be very heavy with political conversations and rough combat. I like to do voices for NPCs to distinguish between narrator and NPC. I am still learning Discord Bots, but I really like adding music to the juicy parts of my campaign, and using sounds for atmosphere and ambience.

Homebrew rules

I have a few home rules for things like random encounters, and double crits. I am open to other house rules that the players are fond of, but that can all be discussed and figured out during Session 0.

Safety

How Travis creates a safe table

During Session 0 I will directly ask what everyone's triggers are to make note to stay away from them. I also will restate it is a horror campaign and what some of the things we will run into are. If for any reason something comes up we didn't prepare for please deafen yourself and make an x with your arms or hold up a red card. If after a session something has bothered you or triggered you please message me or stay after session to chat.
