About the adventure

„Who are the hunters? Are they valiant heroes protecting our villages? Half men half monsters, finding their own place in the border of society? Are they craftsmen, learning secrets of our world beyond what is spoken in these walls? Let me tell you: They are all of these things and there is nobody like them.“ You are called to your duty, down to a village to investigate a mysterious monster that has been sighted and has started to torment the local population. The hunt to end the new threat has begun. But killing such a corrupted beast is not easy, weaknesses will need to unveiled and information be collected to dispose of the monster for good. This game is for players of all experience levels wanting to experience Daggerheart in a grimdark setting. As your GM, I’m patient with teaching rules. In this game, your characters will be at the center of a monster hunt. I’m encouraging using the character transformations introduced in Daggerheart Hope & Fear, therefore werewolf or vampire monster hunters will fit right in the story.

About me

Welcome to my corner of startplaying, adventurer! I'm Charly, interpreter of math rocks, arbiter or the game and your prospective Gaming Mistress. I have a passion for TTRPGs and have been GM-ing for over 4 years, In that time, I’ve been running campaigns, one-shots and a few mini-campaigns. I have experience with DnD, How to be a Hero, the Dark Eye, and I adore Daggerheart as it supports collaborative story-telling very well. I'm driven towards character-driven stories, role-playing and creating unexpected problems for you to solve. At my table, your imagination (within the bounds of our established safety tools) takes the wheel. The game system provide frameworks to tell wonderful and unique stories. In my games, you will not be afraid of the rules, I enjoy teaching new game systems to players with patience, especially if this is your first experience with TTRPGs. Check out my pending games, you might be the perfect player for my table!

Character creation

Creating your character

You will be able to choose from a set of premade characters or generate you own. Character creation will be finished in session 0 to establish party connections. The monster hunt needs to be personal, your characters should have a motivation to search for the monster. Are you part of the hunters guild? Are you living in the village seeking vengeance for someone killed by the monster? All official Daggerheart and Daggerheart hope&fear content is allowed for character creation including character transformations.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You’ll need to join the discord and we will play using Alchemy VTT.

What Charly (magical-engineer) brings to the table

I try to set the scene with ambient music and thematically fitting maps. Within this campaing I implement many Daggerheart-specific mechanics (also partially from other campaign frames) to give you an idea what the game can encompass. I like combat with multiple objectives, but am a Rule-of-Cool person so I will allow stuff that sounds cool to me even if it might bend the rules a bit. I try to differenciate my NPCs by tone and attitude instead of doing true "character voices".
