About the adventure

Welcome, Crawler. Your planet's been repossessed, punched into the Earth, and rebuilt into a labyrinth for my entertainment, and yours, if you play it right. You get to fight, loot, level, and scheme your way down, floor by floor, while the rest of the galaxy places bets on how long you last. Dungeon Crawler Carl: The RPG is a d20-based tabletop game set in the world of the hit novel series. Build your own Crawler and enter the World Dungeon, as a human or an animal (only one animal PC is allowed) get achievements, eat some mana toast, and kill kill kill! This is a skills-based d20 system with heavy player customization. Your Crawler is built around the skills, abilities, equipment, and playstyle you choose, combat monster, sneaky problem-solver, skill-focused specialist, or something the System AI didn't see coming. Floors 1 and 2 (the Tutorial Floors) keep you human while you learn the ropes; Race and Class selection open up if you survive to Floor 3 (Just like in the book) ⚠️ Spoiler Warning: This game is set in the world of the novels, and events, characters, locations, and story beats from the books may come up at the table. If you're actively reading the series and want to stay spoiler-free, this probably isn't the table for you, come back once you're caught up. (Book 1 covers floors 1+2) If you've read the books, love creating fun and unique characters, or just want to see if you'd survive the Dungeon, come join the Crawl. Grab your loot, pick your skills, and try not to die horribly.

About me

Hi there! I'm Joe, aka Phoenix. I've been running TTRPGs for 10 years and have hosted hundreds of games here on StartPlaying. I run character-driven stories where your backstory and weird ideas shape the world

Character creation

Creating your character

You can make a character before Session 0 if you like but character creation will be handled in session 0. that way I am there if you need help. I will also help tailor your character to the campaign and setting. Characters will start off as level 1 humans, and when you get to the 3rd floor is when you can get a class and customize your race/speices (just like in the book)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have the following: - access to a webcam/mic - a Roll20 account (for building characters and accessing the campaign and map/VTT) - a discord account (for playing the game)

What Joe (Phoenix) brings to the table

I will provide the core rulebook, a Pro Roll20 account, a discord server where we will play the game. I have a music bot in the server that will provide some nice background music and the occasional sound effect. I am a big believer and practitioner of the Rule of Cool and the "yes and" philosophy. Players can expect a rules light, roleplay heavy experience that focus on telling a good story.
