About the adventure
The Drylands were a place that put the old stories aside. While superstitious miners have long said that the crystals growing wild in this desert are made from the very life-essence of Forgotten Gods, the folk around here had real work to do, and actual deities were left for campfire stories. That is, until a massive colossus answered the call of something ancient and apocalyptic, rising from the earth and devastating the lands. The bold prospectors, tired laborers, and born-again worshippers in the dusty town of Wyllin’s Gulch were thrown from their routine of industry and exploitation, forced to raise scattered armies and watch them die to the behemoth’s strength. And this is only the first of many titanic beasts poised to terrorize the land. In a Colossus of the Drylands campaign, you’ll play a heroic posse of mavericks who must save their home from a legion of colossi and a primordial god seeking vengeance. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the wierd, wild west of the Drylands! Magic and guns come together in this epic hunt for doom cultists and the gargantuan creatures they worship. Will you save the Drylands from evil's grasp or will you help those who wish its downfall? Expect: > A truly weird-west experience with gunslingers and outlaws inspired by Deadlands, Read Dead Redemption and Shadow of the Colossus. > A gritty fantasy setting where heroes aren't perfect and villains aren't all devious bastards. > The thin line between good and evil may be blury, it's up to you to make the best of the hand you've been dealt. > A journey thorugh the arid plains and canyons of the Drylands, hunting cults, bandits and the faint divinities known as Colossi!

About me
Hi, I'm Mario, a 30 year old gemini with adhd and an affinity for chaos. I've been playing TTRPGs since 2017 and really fell in love with the potential different systems have to tell a story. I absolutely enjoy building plots and hooks around my player's characters, weaving everyone's ideas together to create challanges and ultimately rooting for them. I'm a true believer of the rule of cool and making my players thrive, but temper it with wisdom and follow the rules as much as possible. Required behaviors at my tables: > Taking responsibility for yourself and your well-being by properly using safety tools in games. > Speaking only for yourself and your experiences. > Treating all users with compassion and respect, regardless of their experience or identity. > Taking accountability for yourself and your actions after you have done something that caused harm or discomfort to another user (player or GM). > Advocating if someone at the table has done or said something harmful and contacting me directly. > If you have been hurt or made uncomfortable by me or another user, take time to care for yourself and think about the issue at hand before responding; I envourage resolving any issues in private and avoid escalating the conflict. > Respect other participants and use the pronouns they ask you to use when referring to them. We understand that it is easy to make honest mistakes in this regard, but refusing to acknowledge a correction or deliberately misgendering another player is not acceptable. Unacceptable Behaviors at my tables: > Ignoring, arguing against, or deliberately refusing to respect the boundaries set by other members or the safety tools in play. > Deliberate use or promotion of hate speech, death threats, slurs, deadnaming, misgendering, or otherwise disrespectful language (This includes cursing and generally being rude). > Criticism or disparagement of players because of a lack of experience or low level of understanding of the game. > Speaking over GMs or other players, dismissing their contributions to the game without consideration. > Including problematic material in a game without expressly condemning it as wrong or purposefully leaving out content warnings. > No call/no show on a session. Please be respectful of everyone's time.

Safety
How Notorious Scoundrel creates a safe table
Lines and Veils will be discussed in session 0 to protect our game from any uncomfortable situations. The safety deck on Roll20 also adds an additional layer of protection, in case something is said (by me or a player) that you believe can be skipped or paused. Its completely anonymous, but do let me know (directly or through text) what made you uncomfortable so I can address it as needed. Breaks are also very important to me and my games, usually splitting the session in two with a 15 minute breather. However, feel free to step away from the game at any time if you need it, just take the time to let me know. Especially if you're not feeling well. After each session I'll wrap up with our stars and wishes, as well as open up the space to speak up any concern you might have with your experience.
