About the adventure

In a world of wonderous critters and small magic, both whimsical and dark: A prison, a cavern, an old forgotten path. You are a prisioner of castle Grisé: A rebel or a criminal, a pacifist or a sellsword. Fairly or unfairly imprisoned, you find yourself longing for freedom. And so freedom presents itself. For the Old Word says that deep below this dreaded catacombs, lies a long-forgotten realm. A treasure. A hope. A light in the dark. And down and down and down, to the gates of Wyldrat we go... ------------------------------------------------------------ Hi! This is a campaign for Daggerheart, starting at Lvl.1, made for players of all experience levels. In it, you'll play as a small magical creature, exploring a world that's as wonderous as it is threatening. Here you'll find adventure, whimsy and darkness in equal measure, exploration, combat, deep lore, and the strange mysteries of an enchanted world, waiting for you in the dark. Wyldrat uses a Homebrew campaign frame inspired by books such as the Redwall series and the Hobbit; games such as Hollow Knight; and movies such as Labyrinth and The Neverending Story. Newcomers welcome! This is a great opportunity to learn the system with guidance. This game is voice-only. The first session of this campaign will be a session 0, where characters will be developed as a group and parts of the world will be fleshed out cooperatively!

About me

Hi! I'm GM Diego. I've been playing TTRPGS for about a decade, GMing for a little over 5 years, and loving it more every day. Most of my experience is with D&D 5th edition, but I've also run games with Call of Cthulhu, Dread, Blades in the Dark and more recently Daggerheart. I'm an architect by training (expect to see maps) and a lover of weird fiction, the strange and surreal, the fantastic and magical. I like introducing these elements into my games, whether in a whimsical or darker fashion. I love the feeling of getting lost in a fictional world, and nothing makes me happier than creating those experiences for other people.

Character creation

Creating your character

-Once you join, you can send me your Demiplane username or email. I'll then share content with you, giving you access to all character options. I'll also send you a link to a discord server, where you can discuss character creation with your fellow players. -You can start sketching your character beforehand if you like, but creation will be honed during the session 0, through background and relationship questions. I'll provide assistance and feedback as necessary, before, during and after. -We will build character sheets using demiplane (you will need a free demiplane account), and link them to roll20 (you will also need a free roll20 account), which we will use for battlemaps. -You may use all official Daggerheart material, and content from The Void to make your character (though, if content from The Void gets updated, so will the in-game version of those options). -You may use mixed ancestries (following the official rules).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

If you don't know anything at all about the system, let me know in advance and I'll give you some guidance. I'll also share the rule book with you over Demiplane so you can read the relevant parts at your own pace.
