About the adventure
Beginner-friendly ! Homebrew Play-by-Post Very easy ruleset inspired by Into the Odd Themes: Post-apocalyptic, modern, gritty, horror. Inspirations: Rimworld, Colossus of the drylands, Kenshi, Mad max, conspiracy theories. You begin in the US in 1969, scheduled to launch aboard the Apollo 11 spacecraft. A 110m tall, 3100 ton, flying metal suppository guided by a top-of-the line 76kb memory computer. The atmosphere of trepidation is almost enough to forget the unpopular ongoing war in Vietnam and the Cold War that has been brewing for the two past decades. If this mission is successful, you should be back home in time to celebrate with the hippies in Woodstock happening in three weeks... unless that's not your thing. Session 0 will start with you establishing past links with the other players in the shuttle as it begins to land on the moon. The story will begin as you start rolling the camera to film the historic moment, broadcasted live to the world, and see: A small dark silhouette in the distance, staring at you. A pillar of blue light raising up high and far on the horizon, threateningly humming stronger every second. A distant but deafening, guttural shriek pierces the silence. The figure starts running towards you. It calls ecstatically to you: '' T-The Founders have come back ! G-Glory to the founders !'' The pillar of light misfires, its delayed blast knocking you off your feet, frying all electronic systems in the shuttle. You find yourself on a scarred, ruined moon that was once terraformed by an empire capable of bio-engineering entire races, had AI robots as workers and weapons, capable of space travel and who knows what else. Ravaged by war, devolved into an extremely scarce and dangerous dark age wasteland. Will you survive long enough to discover the secrets of this harsh new world ? Will you find a way home, and if so, in what state will it be? Harsh, realistic and merciless world with deep unsettling lore to unveil. Homebrew campaign using the extremely simple ''Into the Odd'' rulebook. Characters only have 3 main stats, attacks are automatic hits, etc.. You start as an Astronaut, by trade or forcibly recruited. However, upon your arrival on the moon, some strange humanoid aliens seem to revere you as a ''Founder''. It is encouraged to recruit and control these strange new life-forms as secondary characters, allowing you to have a fair chance of survival, establish businesses or send your cronies on expeditions. Very Roleplay-based. Combats will require strategy and coordinating your characters as a group. A landscape telling the story of this decimated celestial body that once knew a golden age who'se technology transcended anything you've ever seen. A lot of hidden lore to discover, shining light upon the origins of all the strange creatures and humanoids unsuspectingly living on the moon!

About me
I'm an extremely motivated new GM that have been looking to run a campaign in a world of my own creation that has been brewing for a few years now. I have been inspired by many different RPGs, video games, books and series. If it has swords or magic, I probably know about it. Love philosophy and adrenaline. Storytelling is the perfect medium to mix the two. Amateur painter, biker, traveler. Daggerheart is an amazing system that allows a lot of freedom to the players and a coherent story well-suited to Play-by-Post pacing. Their 11 domains that make up the classes fit extremely well with my pantheon of 11 Gods. Since I discovered it, video games lost their flavor. I'm hungry for roleplaying opportunities ! I participated in a few games in and out of this website, and believe I have a clear idea of what players expect from a GM and I feel like I can live up to the task. I'm an extremely active GM in Play-by-post, posting multiple times a day everyday. It's my greatest strength but also a possible deal-breaker for people that don't have that same level of engagement. I think roleplaying is more than just a game. It's a social platform where cooperation is key to create interesting stories and develop friendship. Which is why the amount i will charge is symbolic and I don't feel insecure about AI. I will use it for NPC portraits and nothing else. Being an entrepreneur in the printing business; Murals, 3D prints, graphic design, etc... I already have clients paying full price for my expertise. But I'm also in a unique position to give back to the players.

Creating your character
1. Roll 3d6 for each Ability Score in order. - Strength : *If this value reaches 0, you are dead. - Dexterity : *If this value reaches 0, you become Paralysed - Willpower : *If this value reaches 0, you are Mentally Broken 2. Roll 1d6 for your HP : *When your HP is reduced to 0, you are Wounded. Any remaining damage lowers your Strength score. 3. Find Your Starter Package Match your highest Ability Scores with your HP to find your Starter Package in the table the GM gives you. It contains your starting equipment, and if you are lucky, special perks. 4. Backstory During the last year, you have been chosen by your country to begin training as an Astronaut. Every motel from Titusville to Cape Kennedy has a '' NO VACANCY'' sign that's been lit for a week straight. People drove from all over the country, holding their breath in anticipation of the most hyped up event of their generation. It is July 16, 1969 in the US, and you are scheduled to launch aboard the Apollo 11 The atmosphere of trepidation is almost enough to forget the unpopular ongoing war in Vietnam and the Cold War that has been brewing for the two past decades. If this mission is successful, you should be back home in time to celebrate the end of the war with the hippies in Woodstock happening in three weeks. A- What led you to become an Astronaut? Either by profession or after being recently recruted by NASA, you are now an astronaut. You can choose why you were chosen specifically. Maybe they told you something about your ''unique genetic''. Or they told you it would clear your prison sentence, or that they would pay to heal a sick family member, etc... B- Who were you before becoming an Astronaut? You can write your own story. Here are some questions to inspire you: How old/tall are you ? Do you have a family? a profession ? unique talents ? Excited for Woodstock ? Position on the war ? Military background ? What ethnicity are you? etc... 4. Choose two unique Experience from your Backstory to give you advantage on related rolls. It can be a profession, a personality trait, a special skill or a catchphrase. In situations where a roll is needed and you think your Experience grants you advantage, you may obtain a better result. 5. Choose a Flaw Necessary for a good story! Everyone has a weakness or a fear. Maybe a birth defect, a nasty personality trait, an addiction or something else that could cause their downfall. All rolls involving this flaw are either at a disadvantage or automatic failures. It may have additional effects. Lucky you're not alone ! If you need inspiration, you may roll 1d100 from the Mutations Table. 6. Session-0, Past links Before launch, the crew meets inside the Apollo 11 Spacecraft and establishes how they know one another. Everything said is canon — decide together that you're old war buddies, business partners, still hold an old-time grudge... You can roll 1d100 from the '' Past Links'' table for inspiration. You are now ready !
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will happen on a Discord server on a Play-By-Post format. It is a text-based RPG played asynchronously, whenever the players have time to respond. All other materials needed like custom-made character sheets and visual aids will be shared through the discord.
What Maximush brings to the table
I provide a text-based gritty survival adventure, and a deep lore to explore. I build the story around your character's decisions, letting them have a real impact on the world. It is heavily inspired by many different franchises of games, movies, and real conspiracy theories, but it is entirely written by a human. However, I also provide visual aids to make the experience more enjoyable, and that part is mostly AI-generated. If some players want to involve themselves in the process and create their own art for it, I will always priorize and advertise them, but I know where my own talents lie. This is a Homebrew ''Into the odd'' rulebook that priorizes good roleplay over high rolls of the dice, even though they really help. Rule of cool is a given, and the asynchronous nature of the game makes it so there will be a lot of freedom in what can be done in a single post, the goal being to avoid having to wait after someone else to play the game. Conflict between characters is something that can happen, but respect between players is always a given.
Homebrew rules
Into the Odd rulebook with slight adaptations. All rolls are made through a bot inside the discord channel, and have a DC that reflect the plausibility of your success, adding one of your three main stats if needed. ( Strength, Dexterity, Willpower) Adding an ''Experience'' and ''Flaw'' system that allows you to pick certain things in which you are very proficient or inversely. Tasks that involve your experience/flaws might be automatic success/failures, or have better/worse results. In this system, when your HP is reduced to 0, you are merely wounded and make a roll to see if you can stay conscious. All following damage goes straight to your Strength score, and if this score reaches 0, then you die. There will be a guide with the rules to know in the channel discord, but it isn't much more complicated than that.

How Maximush creates a safe table
There will be a X/N/O system in place in the emotes, allowing you to signal to players if some content makes you uncomfortable or is to be changed immediately. We will also have a discussion beforehand about the topics to avoid. But be aware that this is a gritty, horror campaign. There will be heartbreaks, gore, evil things going on. But I draw the line at sexual content. We will start from that and make sure everyone is comfortable.
