About the adventure

REDEMPTION 1-01: Welcome to the Jungle | Intro to the Everyday Heroes If you have ever wanted to play the new version of "D20 Modern" this is your chance. It may take up to 2, 4-hour sessions to complete and we will mostly be using the Everyday Heroes Quick Start Rules. I will have 1st level pregens ready to go! I will be using Foundry VTT and Discord. ADVENTURE SUMMARY The heroes in Welcome to the Jungle are employed by the shadowy, international secret agency REDEMPTION. As such they will likely have been drawn from the very best armed forces and government institutions around the globe. Most will be of a military bent, though this includes medics, scientists, assassins and various other specialists. Indeed, the broader mix of skills the party contains, the greater the chance of their success.he heroes in Welcome to the Jungle are employed by the shadowy, international secret agency REDEMPTION. As such they will likely have been drawn from the very best armed forces and government institutions around the globe. Most will be of a military bent, though this includes medics, scientists, assassins and various other specialists. Indeed, the broader mix of skills the party contains, the greater the chance of their success. Officially, REDEMPTION doesn’t exist. Unofficially, they are a shadow organization created by some members of the UN that believe more could be done to help people in need around the world but might be officially prevented from doing so. They’re independent, so while patron countries can give them directions and ASK them to do certain tasks, they’re not required to do so. They’re also independently funded, through their own activities and through some donations they occasionally receive from the founders and those they help, once they’re able to do so. Aside from that, they’re a second... and sometimes LAST chance for those who’ve fallen off the grid, but whose skills are still useful. It’s a chance for folks to make a difference and change the world for a better place. It’s risky, no doubt, but for some the work suits them. Disturbing reports have come from the Brazilian Amazon about the fate of Grayson McGuire, an investigative reporter, and his TV crew. He went into the rainforest three weeks ago for reasons unknown. The last anyone heard of him was when he made a satellite call from the middle of the jungle and gave a garbled account of “ghosts” and a “phantom shaman” – but surely, that can’t be true? REDEMPTION is sending their best agents into the field with instructions to find out exactly what happened.

About me

Hi, I’m Matt — the Game Master behind Matt Andrade Gaming (MAG). I run cinematic tabletop RPG adventures focused on immersive storytelling, tactical combat, and memorable characters. My goal as a GM is simple: make every session feel like an epic scene from a fantasy film or video game where the players are the heroes of the story. At my table you can expect detailed battle maps, dynamic encounters, and worlds that react to the choices your characters make. I combine strong narrative with tactical gameplay so every session has meaningful roleplay, dangerous combat, and moments that players talk about long after the game ends. I run games for both new and experienced players and work to create a welcoming, collaborative table where everyone has a chance to shine. Whether you’re looking for your first adventure or a long-term campaign, I focus on making sure every player feels involved, challenged, and part of an unforgettable story. If you enjoy cinematic battles, immersive worlds, and character-driven adventures, you’ll fit right in at my table. Grab your dice and join the adventure.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a mic and discord at a minimum.

What Matt brings to the table

This session is a test-run game as I prepare the adventure and my online GM setup for future games. You can expect a fully prepared adventure, immersive descriptions, tactical combat, roleplaying, maps, music, sound effects, and plenty of opportunities for player choice and creativity. However, because this is a test session, there may be some technical hiccups along the way. I’ll be testing various VTT features, maps, lighting, sound, automation, macros, and other tools during actual play. There may occasionally be a short pause while I fix something, reload a scene, adjust a setting, or figure out why technology has suddenly chosen violence. Players should come in with a little patience and a willingness to roll with the occasional technical issue. In return, you’ll get to help me stress-test the adventure and gaming setup while enjoying the full game experience. What you can expect from me: - A prepared and engaged GM - Immersive storytelling and atmosphere - Tactical encounters and meaningful player choices - Fair rulings and clear communication - A relaxed, adult table where everyone gets a chance to participate - A GM actively working to improve the experience based on what works—and what breaks This is ultimately a playable beta test, not a finished production. Things may occasionally go sideways technically, but the goal is still the same: Tell a great story, roll some dice, kill some bad guys, and have a damn good time. 🎲⚔️
