About the adventure

The gods are fading, the Titans are stirring, and an ancient prophecy foretells the Doom of Thylea. In this epic Greek mythology-inspired campaign, you begin as a mortal hero destined for something greater. Your journey will carry you from the great city of Mytros to forgotten temples, monster-haunted islands, cursed seas, and eventually into conflicts where the fate of gods and mortals hangs in the balance. Odyssey of the Dragonlords is a heroic, roleplay-driven adventure inspired by stories like The Odyssey, Jason and the Argonauts, and other Greek epics. Expect dangerous voyages, legendary monsters, meddling gods, ancient curses, dramatic battles, exploration, and difficult choices. The campaign mixes a strong central story with plenty of freedom to explore Thylea, pursue side quests, forge alliances, make enemies, and leave a lasting mark on the world. Your character is also part of the mythology, not simply along for the ride. Each hero chooses a unique Epic Path that connects their personal story to the campaign. Perhaps you're searching for a lost family, destined to confront an ancient enemy, carrying a divine legacy, or pursuing a prophecy of your own. These stories develop alongside the main adventure, giving every character opportunities for personal victories, revelations, rivalries, and consequences. This game is ideal for players who enjoy heroic fantasy, Greek mythology, exploration, memorable NPCs, character-driven roleplay, and big cinematic moments. The goal is to create the kind of larger-than-life adventure where, by the end, your heroes have earned their place among the legends of Thylea.

About me

Salutations and roll for Initiative! I have been playing D&D 5e since Curse of Strahd came out and haven't stopped. Four years ago I became a professional DM and started my own online server and have been running my pay to play games ever since. I'm a fan of rule of cool, enjoy spending my freetime finding new battlemaps and writing up side quests for my players, I also enjoy applying music to help set the theme and use Kenku FM for music and sfx. The one thing I don't do is coddle me players, I keep the stakes high and PC death is a real possibility, so if your looking for a challenge and don't want your DM to hand hold you through encounters then I'm your DM. If you want to hear from my players you're more then welcome to speak with them too!

Character creation

Creating your character

Since the campaign is already underway, character creation will happen before your first game session. I'll run you through a private Session 0 where we'll create your character, discuss how they fit into the campaign, establish any important connections to the setting, and make sure you're ready to jump into the ongoing story. Ability scores are rolled, but if you're unhappy with your rolls, you can choose to use the Standard Array instead. Your character will be created directly in Roll20, and I'll help walk you through the process if needed. You do not need to purchase any books or additional content. I'll provide access to everything you need for character creation during our Session 0, including the available character options and campaign-specific information.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a mic and headset for audio purposes. In addition, you will need to setup free accounts on Roll20 and Discord.

What DM Deadman brings to the table

I have a paid Roll20 account so all the benefits of a Pro subscription using their API features. I have a subscription to CzePeku and Neutral Party battlemaps, Kenku FM for music & sfx, Discord for voice and community with other players in my games. I also have the current DC20 0.10.5 beta pdf and several other pdfs for DC20 like magic item creation, expanded ancestry options and monster collection pdfs. For myself I am a very laid back GM, I like to joke around and have fun and not take everything to serious. I like to keep the rules light and approve of improv and thinking outside the box ideas. I enjoy doing character voices, creating boss mechanics and side quest activities.
