About the adventure
**Free Session Zero** 🏺Greek DM🏺 ⚓ CREW FORMING — 3 heroes needed to set sail. The war is over. Troy has fallen, its walls consumed by flame, and the heroes of Greece have finally turned their ships toward home. But upon the wine-dark sea, home can feel impossibly far away. Storms drive ships from their course, forgotten islands emerge from the mist, monsters haunt the edges of the known world, and the deathless gods still meddle in the lives of mortals. Your voyage home is about to become an epic worthy of song. The Wine-Dark Sea is a Daggerheart campaign inspired by Homer's Odyssey and the mythology of Bronze Age Greece. You will play heroes returning from the Trojan War: warriors seeking glory, seers burdened by prophecy, cunning wanderers, descendants of gods, and other larger-than-life figures struggling against monsters, kings, sorcerers, fate, and occasionally the gods themselves. Expect exploration, dramatic combat, difficult choices, ancient mysteries, divine intervention, and plenty of opportunities for clever solutions beyond simply drawing your sword. The campaign embraces the heart of Greek myth: glory, hospitality, hubris, fate, sacrifice, and the longing for home. The world draws from Greek mythology and Homeric tradition rather than attempting to recreate history exactly, bringing legendary places, creatures, customs, and gods to life while leaving room for us to create an Odyssey of our own. No knowledge of Greek mythology or Daggerheart is required, and new players are absolutely welcome!! And who better to guide you through the wine-dark sea than a Game Master from Greece? Come aboard, invoke the gods, and discover whether the poets will one day sing of your deeds. Your war is over. Your Odyssey begins.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello adventurers and heroes, nice to meet you! I'm Babis, a professional Game Master, game designer, and writer from Greece, with more than 15 years of experience working in the gaming industry. I've been playing RPGs for almost 30 years and telling stories for more than 20, while my professional journey has given me the opportunity to work on board games and RPG projects for companies and worlds that I genuinely love. Throughout all these years, however, one thing has remained the same: nothing excites me more than sitting around a table and creating an unforgettable story together with my players. I specialize in character-driven, cinematic games where your choices matter and your characters are at the heart of the story. Vampire: The Masquerade and the World of Darkness are very close to my heart, but you'll also find me running Daggerheart, Dungeons & Dragons, Savage Worlds, and other systems whenever there is a great story waiting to be told. Whether you've been roleplaying for decades or you're about to roll your very first dice, you're more than welcome at my table. Bring me an interesting character and a willingness to become part of the story, and together we'll take care of the rest!

Creating your character
Character creation will take place together during Session 0, so you don't need to arrive with a finished character! Think about the kind of hero you would like to portray, their appearance, personality, ambitions, strengths, flaws, and what home means to them. During Session 0, you'll choose your Ancestry, Class, Community, and Polis of Origin, with Daggerheart's options re-themed to fit the world of Homeric Greece and Greek mythology. Perhaps you are a proud warrior of Mycenae, an Ithacan wanderer renowned for their cunning, a Spartan raised for battle, a mysterious islander touched by the gods, or even a hero carrying divine blood. You don't need to know Daggerheart or Greek mythology beforehand. We'll create your hero and their place in the epic together.
⛵ CREW FORMING - Α hero has answered the call. 4 more needed to set sail!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have a working mic and a stable internet connection. Then you'll need to join our server on Discord, and on Alchemy. And you are ready to begin!
What Babis brings to the table
Expect a cinematic, character-driven experience where your choices matter and the story develops around your heroes. I use distinct NPC voices, atmospheric music, evocative descriptions, maps, artwork, and visual handouts to bring the wine-dark sea and the world of Homeric Greece to life. My games balance roleplaying, exploration, mystery, and exciting combat, with plenty of room for creative solutions. I embrace the Rule of Cool when it creates memorable moments, while keeping the rules consistent and fair. Daggerheart's Hope and Fear mechanics will help us create unexpected twists, divine interventions, terrible consequences, and moments worthy of an ancient epic. As a Greek GM living in Greece, I also want to give the campaign an authentic Greek character. Expect mythology, legendary locations, ancient customs, names, gods, monsters, and stories drawn from the traditions that inspired the Iliad and Odyssey, without turning the game into a history lesson. You are here to live your own Odyssey, not simply follow someone else's.

How Babis creates a safe table
We will go through safety and player comfort during Session 0, making sure everyone is comfortable with the themes and boundaries of our story before our Odyssey begins. I use Lines & Veils, and we'll establish together which subjects should remain outside the game or happen off-screen. We'll also discuss decompression, check-ins, and other safety tools that allow everyone to communicate comfortably if a scene becomes more intense than expected. Greek mythology can sometimes explore dark and mature themes, but your comfort always comes before the story. My goal is to create an exciting, dramatic, and occasionally intense experience that remains enjoyable both during the session and after we leave the table.
