About the adventure

A mysterious plague carried by strange squid-like parasitic creatures is turning people into zombies. As time went on the situation of the world got dire, as more and more people got turned, more places got overrun by the plague, and less people became able, or willing, to help those in need. You and your group must survive in the chaos of this uncanny and otherworldly threat, while trying to keep yourselves fed, safe, and sane. Bandits, opportunistic politicians, and desperate people are also threats on top of the waves of zombies and squid-parasites. Though, no human will ever be able to be as threatening to your own humanity as the plague. It will sneak in your food, your water, your friends, sometimes even your dreams, and it will take everything that makes you human. The depths are always there, waiting for your embrace. The City has been overtaken by the plague. Zombies and parasites roam the streets looking for victims to infect, while the few remaining people struggle to survive. And the safehouse your group lives currently is decaying and becoming compromised. You have two options: Two stay put and reinforce the safehouse, or to ditch it completely and risk finding a new place to live. Choosing wrong may cost your life. Beginner & LGBTQ+ Friendly!

About me

I'm Zelph (He/him). I played and ran TTRPG games for a while now and I'm passionate about storytelling, be it in writing, in art, or in Tabletop RPGs. My philosophy is "Be the change you want to see in the world" and as such I want to bring many of my favorite RPGs that deserve more notoriety.

Character creation

Creating your character

Tier 1 character, all standard rules for character creation of a post-apocalyptics character, using the Character Rulebook rules (check homebrew rules for additional details).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a working microphone (headset is fine), a free Discord account with verified email, and a web browser of your choice. You DO NOT need to buy Foundry, you will be able to access the game through the browser, preferably through a PC because Foundry isn’t mobile friendly.

What Zelph brings to the table

I will bring the VTT where the character sheets and rolls will be made, along with a map of the fictional city we will be playing in. My campaign is very character driven, with me as a Storyteller reacting to the player character’s decisions and actions. I use ambient music to set the mood of the setting and scene. I tend to go for rules as intended. My tables are LGBTQ+ and beginner friendly, as I look to make a safe place for people and I’m always excited to introduce new people to the game and the hobby.

Safety

How Zelph creates a safe table

In Session 0 I will go over how Cypher 2e, Discord, and Foundry works for those that are new, and I will talk about how every safety tool will be implemented, and may add more if the players desire it. Before, during or after the players may send a consent form filled with the subjects that they are ok and not ok with. Filling the consent form is optional. I will also talk about the setting in which the campaign will be occurring. During the game people will be free to leave the game or request a break at any time without judgment or needing to justify it. An X-card will be available through a Foundry module, which allows anyone to use it at any time anonymously. N and O cards can be sent in Discord's or Foundry's public chat or private messaging me. At the end we will go for a short Stars and Wishes with each player, if they so desire, to see what they enjoyed and what they would like to see more of. I keep the players informed on what their characters know or can know, sometimes without the need for a roll, in order to avoid uninformed decisions that a character in a given context should be informed about and also help new players gradually understand the game.
