About the adventure
Welcome to Mythic Carpathia, of the nineteenth century, as found in the world of Vaesen. In this expansion to the award winning Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying, you will take on the role of an investigator with a rare gift to see the supernatural creatures of superstition, folklore, and legend known as vaesen. You have the Sight and it has gained you entry into a secret society. You have your own reason for tracking down vaesen and taking them on, but bullets and steel won't help you much against them. No, instead, you need to find their weakness to investigate and learn how to deal with a vaesen and protect people from them. New players are welcome! You will have pre-generated characters to choose from and you will learn to play the easy to pick up system as we play.

Hello! My name is Dorreen. I have been GMing for over 5 years now. I focus mostly on D&D 5e but I also enjoy running games such as Call of Cthulhu and Monster of the Week. Creating your character
There will be a variety of pre-generated characters to choose from, for those that want to jump into the game straight away! If you wish to create your own character, we can do that as well! I can provide the materials and help guide you through the process. It actually is pretty easy! You will be provided some insight to the Society, the history of the current location, as well as current events that might help you shape your character's backstory and motivation for joining the Society and their attitude towards vaesen. Character discussion/generation will be handled on a private Discord server for the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
As a player, you will need a microphone, decent internet access, and a quiet space in which to play. As this is an investigative game, it's advised to take notes. I will provide a rules reference sheet that you may want to have handy. Join the game Discord, so that we can easily communicate in a central location. The rules of the game will be explained as we play, but players will also have access to the rulebook. If you wish to create your own character, please let me know as soon as possible. Otherwise, be sure to look over the pre-generated characters and choose a couple that appeal to you. We will be rolling virtual dice and using the character sheets in the vtt. I will provide a link to the vtt for you to join the game, no need to create an account to access the game.
What Dorreen brings to the table
I will bring an immersive setting utilizing the virtual tabletop, Foundry. This will include music, pictures, and maps to help set the scene. Content from the core rule book and the expansion will be available.
