About the adventure

Stonetop is a hearth fantasy role-playing game about the bonds you forge with your community, and the dangers you face to protect it. You are not legendary heroes saving the world. You are people from a small village who look danger in the eye with an anxious but determined smile because someone you love is counting on you. The known world is small, but its wilderness, monsters, and people are anything but. Stonetop is a small pond with surprising depth. You will venture beyond its walls to solve problems at home, and how you do so is up to you. You might fight monsters, forge alliances, explore the forgotten ruins of the Makers, gather valuable resources, or find solutions nobody expected. But eventually, you come home. You return to your family, your friends, your neighbors, and the mundane rhythms of village life: tending fields, repairing homes, sharing meals, and doing all the little things that make a place feel like home. That ordinary life is precisely what makes it worth protecting. As your GM, I am only one storyteller at the table. The history of Stonetop, its people, and the stories we tell together will be shaped by all of us. My job is to guide you through that world, bring its characters to life, and make your choices matter: with dynamic NPCs, meaningful consequences, and a world that reacts to what you do. After all, there are only a few stories quite like returning home after a turbulent journey filled with triumphs, failures, laughter, and loss, and knowing you did it all for the people waiting for you. Welcome to Stonetop, friend. Welcome home. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach me here via direct messages.

About me

Hi! I’m ready to dive into a world of fantasy with you and create a collaborative story we’ll remember for years to come. I became a GM five years ago after being inspired by a phenomenal game run by a close friend, and I’ve never looked back. What keeps me coming back is the endless possibility of what happens next! Given the infinite choices a party can make, I can never be fully sure where the story will take us, and that’s the best part. At every table I run, I make it a priority to shape the story around the players rather than the other way around. I never want anyone to feel forced into a role they didn’t sign up for. I primarily run Pathfinder 2e, Powered by the Apocalypse games like Stonetop, Triangle Agency, and a variety of other systems depending on what the table is excited about. From me you can expect: • Worlds and NPCs that genuinely respond to your actions instead of following one-note scripts • A college student doing his utmost to give every NPC a unique tone and voice (and probably failing sometimes, but having a blast along the way) • A solid balance of challenging fights that push your tactical limits and moments where you get to revel in your power • A real commitment to making sure everyone at the table feels heard and has a great time • Stars and Wishes after every session so I always know what you enjoyed and what you’d like more (or less) of going forward Feel free to ask me any questions if need be to see if I am right for you!

Character creation

Creating your character

You will choose from 9 playbooks, each evocative of classic fantasy classes from other RPGs. Character creation will take place collaboratively during Session 0. Each player will choose their preferred playbook, then we will build your characters' backstories together and establish bonds between PCs and important NPCs. The goal is for everyone to leave Session 0 with a character who already has meaningful connections to Stonetop and the people who call it home.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll join our Discord server to get started, where you'll find all the information you need for the game, text channels to chat with your fellow players, and a voice channel for sessions. We'll use Foundry VTT for our virtual tabletop, which requires no account of its own.

What Wanderer brings to the table

Foundry VTT will be used to make the game as immersive as possible, with theater-of-the-mind backgrounds, music, NPC portraits, and other quality-of-life features. Beyond that, I will always focus on your actions first and foremost. I provide the scene, but from there, you drive the action and shape how the story develops. Your choices, ideas, and consequences will determine where the adventure goes.

Safety

How Wanderer creates a safe table

Player safety is a priority at my table. Before we begin, everyone will have access to a Lines & Veils document where you can establish topics you do not want included in the game or would prefer to keep off-screen. We'll also go over expectations and boundaries during Session 0 so everyone knows what they are comfortable with before play begins. During the game, we'll use an X-Card as an immediate safety tool. If something crosses a boundary or simply makes you uncomfortable, you can use it without needing to justify or explain yourself in the moment. We can stop, move past the subject, or take whatever time is necessary. After sessions, I'll useStars & Wishes to get feedback on what worked and what players would like to see more of. I treat this feedback as a blueprint for future sessions, not a formality. If something isn't working for you, I want you to tell me. My door is always open, whether that means using the formal safety tools or simply sending me a private message. My goal is to maintain a table where players can be honest about their boundaries, concerns, and enjoyment without worrying that doing so will cause conflict. Communication and transparency are a two-way street, and I will do my part to make sure everyone feels comfortable speaking up.
