About the adventure
🦇 The Mists Have Chosen You Curse of Strahd • A Cinematic Gothic Horror Campaign for Daggerheart It is said that the ravens carry the souls of the dead. They watch from the treetops, from ruined rooftops, and from the highest towers. They have watched heroes come before you... and they have watched them fail. A cold wind carries with it the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves. The road behind you has vanished into a wall of rolling mist. Every path ahead leads deeper into a land that should not exist. Welcome to Barovia. This is not a world waiting to be saved. It is a prison. The sun never truly rises here. Villages huddle beneath the shadow of crumbling castles. Wolves howl through ancient forests where travelers disappear without a trace. The people have forgotten what hope feels like, and every whispered prayer is answered only by the echo of distant thunder. Above it all stands Castle Ravenloft. Its master has been watching. He has been expecting you.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I’m a Game Master who believes tabletop RPGs should feel like stepping directly into an epic story—where the players are the main characters, the world responds to their choices, and every session feels like the next chapter in a living, breathing adventure. My goal is to create the kind of experience where players don’t just play their characters—they feel them, inhabit them, and get swept up in the story together as a unified party. I’ve been playing RPGs since I was a kid, but after a long rest away from the table, I’ve returned with renewed passion and a love for cinematic, character-driven storytelling. My influences come from the games that shaped me: the sweeping narratives of Final Fantasy, the immersive worlds of Assassin’s Creed, the mythic weight and emotional gravitas of God of War, and of course the party-focused storytelling of Baldur’s Gate (yes—I’ve played the whole series). At my table, you can expect rich atmosphere, narrative choices that matter, and a world that reacts dynamically to the decisions and backgrounds of the players. I strive to help players get lost in the adventure, forge deep character moments, and experience the thrill of becoming heroes together. If you’re looking for a GM who blends cinematic flair, emotional storytelling, and immersive worldbuilding—welcome to the table.

Creating your character
Character Creation & Session Zero During Session 0 we will be meeting in Discord. We'll create all characters together during Session Zero using Alchemy RPG. This gives everyone the opportunity to build their characters collaboratively, establish meaningful connections with one another, and weave their backstories directly into the campaign's world and themes. No prior character creation is necessary. During Session Zero, we'll walk through the rules, create your character step-by-step in Alchemy RPG, discuss party dynamics, answer any questions, and establish the relationships that will shape your adventure. By the end of the session, everyone will be ready to begin the campaign with characters that feel connected to both the world and each other.

What Joseph P brings to the table
My GM Style I believe the best stories are the ones we create together. My games are highly cinematic, character-driven, and immersive, with a focus on meaningful choices rather than simply moving from one combat to the next. The world reacts to your actions, your decisions have lasting consequences, and your character's backstory becomes part of the adventure instead of something left on a character sheet. Expect richly described locations, distinct NPC voices, ambient music, and dynamic soundscapes that help bring each scene to life. Whether you're negotiating with a suspicious faerie, exploring forgotten ruins beneath the stars, or standing before the weredragon tyrant herself, my goal is to make every moment feel memorable and alive. Combat is exciting and dangerous, but it serves the story rather than interrupting it. Encounters are designed with cinematic objectives, environmental hazards, and meaningful stakes beyond simply defeating every enemy. Creative solutions are always encouraged, and if you have a clever idea that fits the fiction, I'll usually lean toward the Rule of Cool while respecting the spirit of the rules. Perhaps my favorite part of running games is asking questions that give players ownership of the world. You won't just discover the story—you'll help create it. I'll regularly invite you to define memories, relationships, rumors, and pieces of the setting that make your hero feel like they truly belong. Together, we'll build a world where fate may be written in the stars, but the legend belongs to those brave enough to change it.

How Joseph P creates a safe table
Player comfort and safety are a priority at my table. We use Alchemy RPG’s built-in safety tools, including Handles, allowing players to communicate boundaries and concerns easily and respectfully. I strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable contributing to the story. If anything becomes uncomfortable during play, we’ll address it immediately so everyone can continue enjoying the game.
