About the adventure
For centuries, a strange, scorched ruin loomed atop an island in lake Laroba in eastern Ustalav, the fog-shrouded land of horrors. On clear days, the fire-blackened towers and crumbling walls of this ancient castle are visible to those plying the West Sellen River to the east. On some nights, when the fog is light and thin, one might spy lights flickering, as if from high tower windows, yet no such towers rise above the castle today. People whisper about the ruins. Travelers avert their eyes when passing them. They speak quietly of how any who try to reclaim the cursed place tend to meet tragic ends or of how treasure seekers eager to uncover abandoned riches find picked-over web-choked rooms and suffer the most unbearable nightmares for weeks to follow—assuming they simply don’t vanish without a trace. But there comes a time, once every hundred years, when the whispers and idle glances sent this ruin’s way turn to outright terror and wards against evil. For on these centennials, strange green mists wash over the ruins, restoring the castle into a looming testament to one of the most infamous curses in all of Ustalav. On these nights, the Black Coach rides across the spectral span of the Laroba Causeway, its headless coachman seeking specific passengers to take back across the bridge. Those who deny the coachman aren’t forced inside the carriage, but within a week, they meet strange and horrible deaths. Those who accept the invitation to ride back meet fates unknown, for they’re never seen again. Then the mists rise once more, and the castle reverts to an empty ruin, waiting another hundred years before the curse of Bastardhall returns once more. Bastion of Blasphemies is a dungeon crawling adventure beginning at 5th level. Hired by a local to seek clues regarding the fate of her long-vanished parents, the PCs find themselves trapped within the walls of Bastardhall, where they must fight their way through all manner of horrors to escape. Smaller adventures begin the story at level 1 as the group travels through Ustalav, though whether these stories are played through will be up to the group when it has gathered. The game will utilize the following variant rules: - Ancestry Paragon - Free Archetype

Meet the Game Master
About me
I am experienced game master of 7 years, starting with dungeons and dragons, and then gaining experience with call of cthulhu and pathfinder, my current preferred systems. I love to create and share stories with others, and enjoy working both with players who want to play a game to win, and players who are looking to share a story and get deep into roleplaying.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will occur during session 0 of the campaign. Players are asked to bring concepts for their characters, including backstory and build. Session 0 will focus on building the characters into the server, determining if any characters already know one another, etc. Practically all ancestries, backgrounds, classes, and feats are available for use, however uncommon and rare options must be approved by the GM first. With the use of the Free Archetype variant rule, the only restriction is that any class dedication and feats (i.e. wizard, champion, witch, etc.) must be taken with your class slots, and not in the Free Archetype slots.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need access to Discord, internet, a functioning microphone, and either headphones or earbuds. Sessions will take place in a discord voice call, and will also utilize the in-server chatbox in Foundry to communicate. Cameras are entirely optional.
What Jeriko brings to the table
I will provide a full discord server for the campaign, as well as a fleshed out gaming experience using the wealth of tools provided by Foundry VTT. A number of additional modules will be used to enhance player experience. I will also be recording sessions for uploading to youtube over the course of the campaign.
Homebrew rules
Full list of homebrew rules is available in the discord. Most important one for character building is a restriction on the Free Archetype variant rule - Multiclass dedications and their respective feats must be taken in class feat slots. Free Archetype is meant more for flavor and fleshing out additional aspects of your character's story.

How Jeriko creates a safe table
All players are welcome at my table, though this campaign assumes that players will have a certain level of experience with the system and rules! Session 0 will go over peoples' lines and veils, and an open dialogue will be kept throughout gameplay. My goal is to ensure that players always feel comfortable in my games, and know that they can come speak with me if they have a problem or something they need to discuss.
