About me
Hi! I'm Manuel, but I usually go by Strider online. I’ve been playing and running TTRPGs for nearly 17 years, both in Italian and English. All it took was a few trips: Fantastica, Narnia, Middle-earth… I was hooked on fantasy. Starting to play D&D a few years later was only the natural consequence. --------------------------- At my table, I do my best to offer the following: - A friendly, welcoming environment for everyone; - Memorable moments you can tell your friends about; - Worlds worth exploring, and the freedom to do so (but please, don’t suddenly decide to become pirates); - A fun time. It’s still a game, so let’s all enjoy it. I'm always striving to improve my skills as a storyteller and Game Master. Whether it's writing, taking acting classes, or working on my voice, I have fun learning new skills that can help me run games. Let's tell a story together, shall we?

Creating your character
We can take some time during session zero to create the characters, or I can assist you on Discord whenever I am available. Otherwise, you can make a level 1 character on your own (4d6, drop lowest, roll again if total is under 72). During session zero, on top of expectations, safety tools, and so on, we'll also go over your characters' backgrounds and how they might know each other! Characters will be created on D&D Beyond and imported to FoundryVTT. Let me know what you want to play, and I'll make sure any options you want to use are available.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account, a microphone, and optionally a webcam. The link to the Discord server will be sent when you sign up for the game, and any other resources will be on the Discord.
What Strider brings to the table
- Carefully picked maps; - Great background music and ambient sounds; - Terrible character voices, sometimes inconsistent (but working on it!); - Detailed storytelling, complex NPCs, and plenty of opportunities for getting immersed in roleplaying; - A Discord server that will hopefully grow into an amazing and inclusive community.
Homebrew rules
- Negotiation rules taken from Draw Steel; - Potion as a bonus action; - I likely forgot something; more details in or before Session 0;

Safety
How Strider creates a safe table
Although the stories themselves might contain elements that can be sensitive (in the context of a medieval fantasy world, and to give moral weight to the players' actions and choices), no actual racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any other sort of discrimination will ever be allowed at my table. People who discriminate against others for whatever reason are not welcome. With that established, I will work with every single player to ensure that the tone of the game is appropriate for them. Everyone will be given the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist to fill out, and we'll have a discussion about any themes you want to avoid during session zero. If, despite that, something ever comes up that makes you uncomfortable, you can let that be known with an X-Card, and the game will immediately pause and change direction. You will never be asked to give the reason why something makes you uncomfortable.
