About the adventure

The world has been cursed preventing resurrection and slowly killing any that have been resurrected. It has been identified that the source of this curse originates somewhere from within the jungles of Chult. These jungles are riddled with dangerous tribes, dinosaurs and other creatures of varying friendliness. Can you find the curses source before it’s too late for the people you love? In this adventure you will be trying to survive harsh jungle environments and ward off threats. As a result there are some survival mechanics involved. On top of this resurrection spells will not work so characters should be built with this in mind. The adventure is sandbox in nature with no predetermined path. But there will be an in game timer with dire consequences if you do not reach the source of the curse in time. The pressure is on. Session zero is to take place on the 15th September

About me

I have a real passion for storytelling and role-play games. The idea of creating whole new worlds, even within pre-existing ones through unique storytelling excites me, and is what I lean heavily on within my games. Even when running pre-written adventures I will put my own unique spin on the story with the main focus being on the player characters. When you join one of my games you are not just signing up to be told a story to, but to tell a story together, and add your own unique stamp on the worlds I can take you to, and that we will shape together. Character creation

Creating your character

We will create character within session zero. You will have the option of using D&D beyond or creating the character by hand within foundry. Beyond characters will be imported into foundry for use at the table. All official materials with the 2014 ruleset can be used with homebrew being on a case by case basis.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a discord account, free sqyre account (to access the Virtual Table Top) and optional free D&D beyond account. Gameplay will be over live voice chat in discord so a good quality microphone is also required.

What Dan of the dice brings to the table

I am an experienced GM who runs a game applying rules as written except for when they get in a way of fun. I attempt to give each NPC their own personality and voice, but you shouldn’t be coming in expecting Matt Mercer. You can expect Ambient Music and Sound effects. These have individual volume controls each player so you can feel free to lower, raise or mute them to your own choosing. L

Homebrew rules

I have a alternate Critical Hit rule In which the full amount of damage possible from the attack is applied and added onto your dice roll. For example if you roll a crit and your weapon would have done 2d6+2 damage you would automatically do 14 damage (6+6+2) before you roll the dice. Then add on your dice roll. This rule is applied both ways, so enemy combatants will apply critical hits in the same way. I have found that using this rule means that critical hits never feel underwhelming.

Safety

How Dan of the dice creates a safe table

I will gather from you a list of lines and veils anonymously, and collate these into alist that is accessible to the table. It is expecting that everyone respects these lines and veils regardless of their personal opinions on a given topic. There are anonymous systems used within the VTT that allow for players to call for a stop to the game at any time or to issue a caution if they are starting to feel uncomfortable. This will always be taken seriously. I also run an open door system where in you can contact me at any time with concerns.
