Creating your character
Players will create a Level 1 character in Foundry VTT using the 2024 D&D rules. Ability scores will use the Point Buy system. More information on character creation can be found in the Discord server. I'm also happy to help with character creation, backstories, and tying your character into the campaign before Session 1.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Games will be played on Foundry VTT and accessed through The Forge, so a free Forge account will be required before Session 1. No additional software or purchases are needed. Everything runs through your web browser. Voice chat will be hosted on Discord, so a stable internet connection, working microphone, and headset are required. A link to the Discord server will be provided after joining the game, where you'll find everything you need to prepare before Session 1.
What Gavin brings to the table
I enjoy weaving character backstories into the campaign to create personal stakes, memorable moments, and meaningful connections to the world around you. I use music, atmosphere, detailed maps, and character voices to help bring each adventure to life and create an immersive experience at the table. My games balance roleplay, exploration, and combat, with a focus on teamwork, creativity, and collaborative storytelling. While I generally follow the rules, I also believe in rewarding clever ideas and cinematic moments. If you come up with a creative solution that fits the story, I'm always happy to work with you to make it happen. I like to strike a balance between epic storytelling and having a laugh. There are plenty of opportunities for light-hearted moments and table banter, but when the stakes are high, I enjoy giving those moments the weight they deserve. You'll have access to a fully featured Foundry VTT experience, complete with dynamic lighting, handouts, and high-quality maps to enhance every session. Above all, I aim to create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where players of all experience levels can enjoy Dungeons & Dragons together.

How Gavin creates a safe table
