About the adventure

This game is an official adventure that takes place right after the Edgerunners Season 1 Finale, when David, Becca, and their edgerunning crew took on Arasaka and lost. But David's iconic Edgerunners Jacket didn't die with him. Instead, it's been stolen, and David's friend wants you to find it before someone else does. With your new edgerunning crew, you'll go across Night City in search of David's Jacket and other mementos from the Edgerunners crew. You'll visit quintessential locations from the Anime and video game and talk to legendary characters such as Falco and Jackie, all while racing Arasaka for the Jacket. If you do it right, you'll get a great payday. If you do it wrong...well, you only get an Afterlife drink after you biff it in style. Either way, you'll find yourself in the world of Cyberpunk Edgerunners crafting your own story with your crew. This game is aimed for beginners, but non-beginners are also welcome. Whether you loved the anime and want to try out the TTRPG for the first time or you're a long-time player hyped up about Edgerunners again after that Season 2 trailer drop, feel free to join! We'll go through the entire official campaign, involving both intensive roleplay and heart-pounding, death-defying action. Feel free to either make your own character or choose one of the pre-made sheets that come with the campaign. We'll be using some of the rules from the works outside of just The Jacket, including all of the roles from the core rulebook and items from outside of the Core Rules and Edgerunners Mission Kit can be used upon pre-approval by me. I'll also add in some extra story beats in order to bring in even more beloved locations and characters so you can spend the whole month in the world of Edgerunners. As an LGBTQIAA2S+ femme GM I know these spaces aren't always welcoming to everyone. I put in intentionality to make my tables a safe space for everyone looking to enjoy the game.

About me

Hi! My name is Brooke, and I’m passionate about role playing and storytelling. I’ve been involved in TTRPGs for 5 years and GMing for 4 years. I’m most acquainted with Cyberpunk RED (both in the core 2045 and 2077 setting with the Edgerunners Mission Kit). I’ve GMed hundreds of Cyberpunk RED games, whether they be in a campaign, living community, or one-shot format. I’ve also played hundreds of Cyberpunk Red games. In addition, I’ve run games of Cy_borg, CBR + PNK, Marvel Multiverse, Shadowrun 2nd Edition, and Cyberpunk 2020. I also have experience playing MASKS and Fallout 2d20. I enjoy trying new systems, so if anyone wants to play anything from Vampire the Masquerade to Brindlewood Bay, I’m down. I can run DnD if need be, but my hope is to give other games the spotlight they deserve. What brings me to RPGs, and to GMing, is my love of acting. I enjoy role playing and creating a world and stories where people can deeply inhabit their characters around fun, life-like NPCs. What’s most important to me is my players feel comfortable and have fun, and as a femme member of the LGBTQIA+ community, that especially means welcoming those who may have felt excluded from the ttrpg community in the past.

Character creation

Creating your character

There are two options for character generation. You may either ask for a pre-generated character or build your own using the Complete Package method from the Cyberpunk Red Core Rulebook. A pre-generated character is one where all the stats, skills, and gear are already figured out, you just have to think about who your character is as a person and let me know what role (rockerboy, solo, medtech, etc) you would like to play. You can take a look at roles starting on page 29 of the Cyberpunk Red Core Rulebook, with their specific mechanics listed between pages 144 and 163. You may also want to take a look at any changes to the rolls that are listed in the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rulebook on pages 25 and 26. You can then personalize it by using the Lifepath mechanics on pages 19-24 in the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rulebook. If you are creating your character, follow the instructions of the Complete Package method on page 42 of the Cyberpunk RED Core Rulebook. As this game takes place in 2077, also take a look at the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rulebook to see the changes to roles (p. 25-26), equipment (p. 30-36), and quickhacking (done by netrunners, can effect everyone. p. 16-17 and a reference sheet on the last page). The character sheet we are using already has the neuroport and everything that comes with it listed. You will run the Lifepath on pages 19-24 of the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rulebook. You may use any item from the Core Rulebook or Edgerunners Mission Kit, and if you want to use anything from outside those options you may do so with my approval. All sheets must be returned to me at least 2 hours before start time so I can go over them. Everyone is entitled to a free character creation call of up to one hour in length.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account, a Roll20 Account, and to read at least pages 144-163 in the Cyberpunk RED Core Rulebook and pages 1-18 and 25-26 in the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rulebook. If you are new to Cyberpunk RED, I suggest reading through the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rule Book (specifically pages 1-18). You will definitely want to look at the last two pages, which has a quick sheet of rule references. If you are new to TTRPGs, you may also want to look at the Edgerunner Mission Kit's Intro Sheet, which gives a little breakdown of TTRPGs. If you want to go more in-depth on combat in the game (though the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rulebook has most of what you need to know) you can read pages 167-192 in the Cyberpunk RED Core Rulebook. If you're not familiar with the 2077 setting, or if it's been awhile since you've played the video game or watched the anime, you may have fun reading the Edgerunners Mission Kit Edgerunner's Handbook, which is all about the lore. You may specifically want to look at pages 8-14 and 17-33. I know that's a lot of stuff, so if you have any questions please contact me. Again, all that's necessary is 144-163 in the Cyberpunk RED Core Rulebook and 1-18 and 25-26 in the Edgerunners Mission Kit Rulebook. I also have a playlist of videos that people can watch if they feel it may be useful for them. You also might want to watch Season 1 of Edgerunners for a refresher of what happened!

What Brooke- GM sadhedonist brings to the table

I bring a narrative set in a world where each NPC feels like a real person and the city is alive. I do voices, have pictures, use maps, and make a custom playlist for each session that you may request songs for. I am very communicative with my players, and will ask your thoughts about my ideas for your characters' narratives so that you have a say. Even in a short, official campaign such as this, your character will still have an opportunity to integrate their story to make the world come alive. I am patient and good with explaining the ropes to new players, so you have a teacher who believes in you. I provide the space for people to get really into role-play and to act out exactly what they're doing. I provide challenges that are narratively-based, rewarding, and are challenging, yet achievable. My inbox is open for anything you need to say (just keep it kind), and I will always reach out if need be. I'll give handouts for any important information or characters. At the end of this game, you will know how to play Cyberpunk RED and feel like you truly were in the world of Cyberpunk Edgerunners and 2077.

Safety

How Brooke- GM sadhedonist creates a safe table

My main focus as a GM is that we all have fun. Of course, in order to have fun, you must feel safe! Below you can find the content warnings for this game, which are elements inherent to the game. For other potential triggers, I have a Campaign Safety Document based off the Monte Cook checklist that basically contains possible triggers that could be in the game. The document itself has more information, including an explanation of lines and veils. This DOES need to be filled out, ideally before session 0, so I can let people know if any topics need to be fade-to-black or not in the game. That document also asks for what you would like to see in the game, and as the game goes on you can always tell me what you like, don't like, or want to see more of through speaking with me. I have formalized breaks (usually a 13 minute break around the halfway point), but also have an open door policy. Any time you need to go to the bathroom, excuse yourself, deal with something, just message that chat that you'll brb. I want you to take care of those things without any stress! There is a session 0, in which I'll go over any lines or veils listed from the safety document answers, we'll create a sort of informal "guidelines" for campaign conduct, I'll talk a bit more about the campaign, we can talk about character sheets, rules, more info on the safety tools, whatever. Session 0 is free. Lastly, I do use the X-Card. Anytime you need a scene to stop, you can just either DM "X"," tag me with an "X" any any of the discord channels, or, you can click on the Roll20 X card and it will pop up on everyone's screens without showing who clicked it. I'm also always available to listen or reach out to, and if I think anything is amiss, I will absolutely check in with you privately after the game and make sure things are all good. If you have any other ideas about things you feel would make you feel safe and have fun, you can absolutely bring it up at any point. I'm a super chill dude who's always open to suggestion. The content warnings can be found below. Do note that the Human Trafficking content warning will only involve people voluntarily in the line of work (the Mox).
