About the adventure
The high-fantasy landscape of Faerûn has begun to change. Making use of both magic and technology, towns and kingdoms everywhere have begun to advance further into the industrial age. Dive into the cities of the Forgotten Realms, dressed up in the feel of the gothic & victorian era, adorned with influences from western-, east-asian- and pirate-aesthetics from the mid 19th-century. This game attempts to subvert the classig TTRPG experience, while still keeping the familiar gameplay intact. Fun buzzwords, right? Seriously though, where would centuries of adventuring lead a world? How would the powers-that-be react, after relying on the whims of vagabonds and travelers to solve their problems. What monarch would sit by, as people with truly god-like power are the backbone of their kingdoms? How would you fare in an age where every dungeon has already been delved and the golden age of adventures turns to its twilight years? And how would the world react as it once again needs adventurers, with only you still available? Who would you be in such a world? A weathered adventurer reliving their glory-days again and re-learning their old skill? A stranger to the concept, thrown into this role against all odds and without training? Someone who heard tales and read books on the fantastical epics of the past, setting out to still make a name for themselves, while they can? No matter your level of experience, how familiar you are with the material and lore, you have a story worth telling in this world.

About me
Hello there! Thanks for checking me out :) You're in the mood for a classic fantasy campaign? You want to play in a world that's built around making your character feel alive? You like homebrew, and have a great interest for exploring new and creative settings? Then you're in the right place! In my experience of hosting games, there's always a story that everyone wants to tell. And I try to make sure, that your story is told too. My campaigns are almost entirely homebrew because I want to invite creative contribution, and give you the freedom to play who and how you want to. I want to make sure that you can enjoy the game we play. And to do that I guarantee open communication, a secure but flexible schedule, and preparations made according to your requests. If I caught your attention with any of these things, I hope you consider taking part in a game. Thanks again for reading this, and see you soon!

Creating your character
You can create your character in your own time before the first session. I'm open to all input into the worldbuilding to help facilitate your character as a realistic part of it and will gladly read your 40-page backstory. Your characters stats should be decided with the Point Buy system. We will start the campaign at level 1 with the hopes of getting an extra level every second session. If you want to, you are welcome to use DnD Beyond to create your character sheet, though I'd prefer it made manually, to get familiar with it. I myself won't use much more than the Player Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide and Monster Manual for prep, with maybe some things taken from Tasha's Cauldron or Xanathar's Guide. But you are welcome to use material from every sourcebook you have. Homebrew classes are also not categorically out of the question, though I'd still like to look over them first and possibly give input.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You are going to need: - A discord account - Your Character Sheet That's it. I'm gonna rely on theatre of the mind for most of the session. I do, however, use Hero Forge, a miniature modeling website, to create visual aspects for the game. If you'd like a render of your character ready before the game starts, you'd only need to approach me with a visual description. No matter how vague or precise, I'm sure I'll manage. The sessions will take place on a discord server made specifically for the campaign. Ambience and dice will be provided, bring your own snacks.
What Yann brings to the table
Having run an improv-workshop for about a year, I use my voice and theatrical skills in any way I can. I want to create an environment where you can engage in the role-playing aspects of the game comfortably and without feeling pressured or disappointed. Respecting boundaries is both in- and out-of-game an absolute requirement. Music and ambience will be supplied, visuals only as far as I deem them necessary or if they're specifically requested. I enjoy DnDs Combat a lot, but don't actively use battlemaps. We'll go about combat with trial and error, in hopes of figuring out a way to do it we all feel good about. Yes, Rule of Cool is superior. And I will allow most things under it, to a point. DnD is still a game, so the RoC cannot overwrite the inherent sense of play. After all, Rule of Cool still a rule.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion only costs a bonus action, but using a full action restores the max hp the potion can supply. You can cast multiple leveled spells within a single turn. A natural 20 outside of combat is still a critical success. Long Rests require a certain amount of food. Short rests don't take an hour, more like 10 minutes. Stun doesn't exist. I think that's everything... anything else will just be mentioned in the moment

How Yann creates a safe table
I'll provide a general code of conduct after going over everyone's personal boundaries 1-on-1 beforehand. Any input will be anonymous and universally enforced. We'll discuss the tone and theme of the campaign during session 0, introduce all characters, and see if there are any conflicts. As a mediator, it will be my job to ensure all concerns be addressed and resolved before starting the game officially. During each session, it is explicitly allowed to quit at a moment's notice for any reason. If that happens, I'm going to follow up after completing the rest of the session, unless directly contacted to check in right away. Should any scene make someone uncomfortable, they are welcome to message X, N, & O's. I'll also check up on everyone after each session to get their input on the stories and make sure that everyone is still comfortable. Consent is the most important part of role-play, so intentionally crossing any boundary will not be tolerated.
