About the adventure
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... It is a period of civil war. An Alliance of rebel freedom fighters has destroyed the dreaded DEATH STAR, the Galactic Empire's intended instrument of galactic domination. Thousands of star systems now begin to realize the possibility of open rebellion against the Empire, even as Imperial forces frantically regroup to assert the EMPEROR'S power over the galaxy. KAERENYA, Queen of Aquilae, has called for open revolt against the Empire while the world's Assembly of Government has voted to dissolve itself and place the planet under direct Imperial control. In the spaceport city of GORDON, life goes on for the average citizen of Aquilae, but events in the larger world and the larger galaxy cannot be dismissed indefinitely.... This campaign welcomes all. I’m very happy to teach beginners. Scheduling in the long term may be subject to change in order to accommodate everyone’s availability. In-depth knowledge of Star Wars is not essential, but it’d probably help if you’ve at least seen A New Hope. For those that are interested, Star Wars: Rebels, Andor, Rogue One, and Episode IV: A New Hope will certainly be helpful viewing. Expect a Hero’s Journey, from picking up power converters at Tosche Station to… who knows?

About me
I’m a lifelong tabletop RPG enthusiast and GM, with over thirty years’ experience. I got my start with the good old red box (BECMI) D&D, and it's all kinda snowballed from there. I’ve been running what amounts to the same Star Wars RPG campaign for much of that time, through numerous systems and/or iterations of systems. I’ve run and enjoyed many many other games - I love to learn a new system - and tend toward SF and superhero genres. I’m also a fan generally of comics and science fiction, an incorrigible reader, an aspiring writer, and a student of Zen. The table I’d want to run would be inclusive and welcoming, with a strong focus on collaboration and storytelling. I generally aim to create opportunities for heroes to shine in big cinematic moments, but also for roleplaying, emotional beats, and character development. A bit of humor will tend to creep in as well. At the end of the day, I take great enjoyment and fulfillment from helping my players have a great time. I like to put in the homework on worldbuilding, creating an immersive experience. At the end of the day, the Game is what matters, and everything I do as a GM is in service of that.

Creating your character
We will create characters at first level during Session 0. The Jedi class is unavailable to start with. Characters will most likely start with the Scout or Scoundrel classes, but Noble or Soldier are not out of the question.
This will be a free Session 0, at which we will figure out party details.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will be played via Zoom. It will be Theater of The Mind, so no VTT will be necessary. Information about the specific campaign setting can be found at https://www.worldanvil.com/w/aquilae-elscoob . It is in no way absolutely required to know any of this information, but it is presented for those who may be curious.
What Gregory Sheets brings to the table
The game is Theater of the Mind, Rule of Cool. I tend to hew to the rules as written by default but am completely prepared to Make Things Up As We Go. I definitely love to use character voices, which will sometimes be cool and sometimes be hilariously bad. Music, sound effects, images, and video may pop up to help establish the mood. General setting information is available. I have .pdf copies of the books and can provide helpful links to other resources.
Homebrew rules
I have no home-brew rules in place at the outset, but it's not impossible that such things could come into existence, especially through collaboration with players.

How Gregory Sheets creates a safe table
I will work with players during Session 0 to establish lines and veils and am open to X/N/O cards by any line of communication. I'd also love to do Stars and Wishes if the players are up for it.
