About the adventure
"Are you willing to operate as a secret member of Order of the White Lotus in order to save innocents in this barbaric war of Fire Nation, while you search for the Avatar?" the elderly woman asked softly, as she sat at the Pai Sho table in the backroom of a spice merchant's shop in Omashu. Fire Lord Sozin started the Hundred Year War by committing genocide against Air Nomads in their four temples, as well as eradicating Southern Water Tribe benders. As players, you will be young adults who were deemed worthy and recruited by the Order of the White Lotus for two missions of utmost importance: find the Avatar, and save as many lives as you can in the lands Fire Nation rages its war. Air Nomads are almost all wiped out, Southern Water Tribe has been conquered, Northern Water Tribe is under siege, Earth Kingdom loses more land with every passing day, and Fire Nation colonies and concentration camps are growing. Order of the White Lotus asked you to reduce the suffering caused by the ongoing war; to protect the survivors whom are being hunted, to save the children whom are being executed, to liberate enslaved and imprisoned benders, and to find the Avatar who is the only person who can end this once and for all. But if the Avatar is gone forever, are you willing to sacrifice everything to bring peace to the world? This game will take place in the Hundred Year War period, while Aang stayed frozen, up until the moment he was found. Unlike the show, this story is much darker and aimed at adults; combat will be violent, especially the results of bending fights on the human body will be realistic, and thus devastating. We will roleplay in a more serious tone, and will include bleak concepts to showcase the real consequences of such a terrible war.

About me
Greetings. I am a 40 years old academician who has been playing TTRPGs for over 20 years. My methods and preferences in worldbuilding, lore harmony, philosophical injections, and character development in creative writing have been influenced by classics such as Lord of the Rings, Buffy/Angel, Xena, Battlestar Galactica, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Creating your character
Once a player signs up for the game, we will determine a day when they have free time, and briefly discuss their character concept together to solidify ideas and establish development goals.
Blades in the Dark system is designed in a way that support characters are as effective as combat characters. And just like Suki, a Martial Artist can take on multiple benders by herself. A Healer who gathers herbs or a Merchant who sells jewelry can easily change the course of a battle, or reverse a political disaster. And for everyone to feel unique, player characters should bend different elements. Available elements are Earth, Fire, and Water.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players need a Roll20 account, and Discord for voice chat.
What Relik brings to the table
I occassionally use background music to set the atmosphere. I use maps as referenece images, but we will mostly do Theatre of Mind. Combat is challenging, and high-stakes.
Homebrew rules
I have homebrew class archetypes for players such as Benders, Martial Artists, and Weapon Masters. We will further adjust their abilities to achieve their desired unique hero.
