About the adventure
Stonetop is a hearth fantasy game set in an iron age that never was. You'll play the heroes of a small village at the edge of the known world, venturing away from the safety of home to make allies, face down foes, and bring back materials to improve your home village. As you play, you'll learn more about the world you inhabit as you explore dangerous ruins, discover truly magical artifacts, and contend with all manner of monsters. You're adventurers, but you're also members of a community. After you're done adventuring, home is waiting for you - there's fields to be plowed, clothes to be washed, homes to be built. There's something here in Stonetop that's worth fighting for. When there's a crisis, or a decision to be made, folks around here look to you. The people of Stonetop trust you to keep them safe. Can you live up to that responsibility? As your GM, I'll be here to help you create a character and their connections to Stonetop, teach the rules, and present an ancient and mysterious world for you to explore. I'll foster a safe and welcoming table, where we all feel comfortable to explore and inhabit this village. Hi, I'm Clarissa! I've been playing TTRPGs ever since I was a kid, and I've been running games professionally for four years now. I love RPGs for their intersection of game mechanics and collaborative storytelling. My goal is to give each player a space to express their character and contribute to an interlocking narrative. Creating your character
You'll choose a character class, including typical fantasy options like clerics of specific gods, thieves, rangers, and more. Each class is tailored to this setting, and we will finish creating our characters during session zero. As part of this process, we'll build out your backstory, and create connections between you and the other players that tie you to the village of Stonetop.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll join our Discord server to get started, where I'll have the information for the game, text channels to chat with your other players, and a voice channel for the session. We'll use Miro as our virtual tabletop, which is free and web-based (no download or account required)
What Clarissa brings to the table
I provide a world full of mystery and wonder, full of danger and adventure! I prefer to create a situation that demands action, rather than railroad you through plot beats. I'll describe what's happening, and you'll tell me what you do about it, and we'll go from there. To me, the magic of roleplaying games is when the story goes in a direction I could've never anticipated. I'll also provide ambient music, rules and references for the game, and instruction as needed.

How Clarissa creates a safe table
We'll host a session zero to create a shared safety document of lines and veils. During the session, we'll utilize the x card to stop play if anyone is uncomfortable, and figure out how to fix the situation. I'll foster a policy of open and clear communication - if you have a problem with something in the game or my GMing, you can tell me and I will reserve judgement and figure out how to fix the situation.
