About the adventure

Singularity is Traveller's equivalent of Mass Effect 3, Eclipse Phase, Transhuman Space, and the Culture series smashed together into a galaxy-spanning endgame where the PCs eventually gain enough power to alter the future of Charted Space itself. Most Traveller campaigns are about survival on the frontier: paying the mortgage, finding work, and keeping your ship flying. Singularity begins there, but quickly becomes something far more ambitious. You begin aboard the luxury liner Ventura Fortuna in the heart of the Third Imperium, surrounded by nobles, industrial magnates, celebrities, and power brokers. When an encounter with an enigmatic alien visionary sets impossible events into motion, you'll be drawn into ancient mysteries, galaxy-spanning conspiracies, and discoveries that challenge everything humanity believes about life, death, and consciousness. As the campaign unfolds, you may transfer your mind into cloned bodies, synthetic forms, and remote embodiments, allowing you to operate across worlds and star systems simultaneously. Along the way you'll navigate Imperial politics, uncover forgotten secrets, confront powerful factions, and help determine the future of intelligent life throughout Charted Space. This campaign is ideal for players who enjoy deep roleplay, investigation, mystery, transhumanist science fiction, and meaningful choices with lasting consequences. If you enjoy stories like Mass Effect, Altered Carbon, Foundation, The Expanse, Eclipse Phase, or The Culture, Singularity offers a chance to explore some of science fiction's biggest questions: What makes a person who they are? What should humanity become? And who gets to decide?

About me

I’m a 37-year-old Game Master with a deep passion for collaborative storytelling, immersive worlds, and long-form character-driven campaigns. Tabletop gaming has been a major part of my life for years, and since shortly before COVID, professional GMing has been my full-time work. Over the years I’ve run multiple systems and settings, with a particular love for D&D 5e, Adventures in Middle-earth, and Chronicles of Darkness. My favorite campaigns tend to blend strong roleplay, atmosphere, mystery, tension, and meaningful character development. I especially enjoy building stories around player backstories and weaving their choices directly into the larger narrative. I also enjoy homebrew design and adapting systems to fit unique settings and themes. Some of my larger projects have included adapting settings like Elden Ring and Dragon Age into D&D, as well as creating crossover and conversion systems involving World/Chronicles of Darkness and Lord of Mysteries. Especially Lord of Mysteries... Some of my favorite settings and inspirations include Middle-earth, Ravenloft, Eberron, Wildemount, Dune, and the World of Darkness universe. Outside of online GMing, I’ve also been working on building an after-school LARPing program focused on creativity, storytelling, teamwork, and roleplay for younger players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created during Session 0 with my assistance, so no prior Traveller experience is required. New players are absolutely welcome. We'll use standard Traveller 2e character creation, including the full life-path system where your character's history, careers, skills, allies, rivals, and life events are generated before play begins. By the end of Session 0, you'll have a fully realized character with personal connections to the setting and campaign. Characters will begin as ordinary Travellers rather than heroes or chosen ones. Whether you are a former scout, scientist, noble, merchant, marine, agent, or something stranger, your character will start as a capable individual whose experiences and decisions shape the story. As the campaign progresses, those same characters may find themselves influencing events on a galactic scale. The Core Rulebook is all that is required. Additional options from approved supplements may be discussed on a case-by-case basis during Session 0. My priority is creating characters that fit the themes of mystery, discovery, identity, and the future of intelligent life while ensuring every character has a meaningful place in the story.

What Ashley brings to the table

I run immersive, character-driven campaigns where player choices matter and the story evolves around the actions, goals, and relationships of the crew. I enjoy weaving character backstories directly into the campaign, ensuring every Traveller has personal stakes in the mysteries, discoveries, and challenges they encounter. Expect atmospheric music, detailed maps and handouts, custom journals, character voices, and a rich Foundry VTT experience. Exploration, investigation, diplomacy, and problem-solving are just as important as combat, and many situations can be approached in multiple ways. While Traveller can be dangerous, I focus on meaningful consequences rather than arbitrary character death. My games balance rules knowledge with narrative flexibility. I generally follow the rules as written, but I'm happy to reward creative solutions and clever plans when they fit the story and setting. Players who engage with the world, pursue their own goals, and collaborate with the group will find plenty of opportunities to leave a lasting mark on the campaign. Singularity is a campaign about big ideas, difficult choices, and the future of intelligent life itself. Whether you're debating the ethics of consciousness transfer, negotiating with powerful factions, uncovering ancient secrets, or exploring the limits of what humanity can become, the focus will always be on meaningful decisions and their consequences.

Safety

How Ashley creates a safe table

Creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive table is important to me. Before the campaign begins, we'll hold a Session 0 to discuss expectations, campaign themes, character concepts, table etiquette, and any topics players would prefer to avoid or handle off-screen. I use several safety tools, including Lines & Veils, the X-Card, and open-door policies. Players are always welcome to step away, message me privately, or raise concerns during or after a session. Safety tools may be used verbally, through Foundry, or through private messages—whatever is most comfortable for the player. This campaign explores themes such as identity, mortality, consciousness, artificial intelligence, and societal change. While these topics can become thought-provoking and emotionally complex, player comfort always takes priority over the narrative. We will work together to ensure the game remains engaging, collaborative, and enjoyable for everyone at the table. After sessions, I encourage feedback through discussion and Stars & Wishes so that I can continue tailoring the campaign to the interests and comfort levels of the group. My goal is to create a table where players feel safe exploring challenging ideas while knowing their boundaries will be respected.
