About the adventure

The Breach has been sealed. Corypheus is dead. The Inquisition has fallen. Yet across Thedas, troubling signs continue to emerge. Grey Wardens report strange dreams from the Deep Roads. Ancient ruins reveal evidence of civilizations older than history records. Red lyrium spreads where it should not exist. Whispers speak of forgotten gods, sleeping powers beneath the earth, and truths that powerful people would kill to keep buried. In this campaign, the players serve a secret successor to the Inquisition, tasked with investigating mysteries that threaten the future of Thedas. Your journey will take you from the courts of Orlais to the depths of the Deep Roads, from Dalish legends to lost temples buried since the ancient world. Along the way, you'll uncover the hidden connections between the Titans, the Evanuris, the Blights, and the remaining Old Gods. This is a story-driven campaign focused on investigation, exploration, political intrigue, difficult choices, and uncovering ancient secrets. Combat is meaningful and dangerous, but many of the greatest challenges will be solved through diplomacy, clever planning, research, and the relationships you build throughout the world. Perfect for fans of Dragon Age: Origins and Inquisition, this campaign embraces the setting's greatest mysteries while forging its own path. Whether you are a Grey Warden, mage, noble, scholar, scout, or wandering adventurer, your choices will shape the future of Thedas—and perhaps reveal truths that were never meant to be found.

About me

I’m a 37-year-old Game Master with a deep passion for collaborative storytelling, immersive worlds, and long-form character-driven campaigns. Tabletop gaming has been a major part of my life for years, and since shortly before COVID, professional GMing has been my full-time work. Over the years I’ve run multiple systems and settings, with a particular love for D&D 5e, Adventures in Middle-earth, and Chronicles of Darkness. My favorite campaigns tend to blend strong roleplay, atmosphere, mystery, tension, and meaningful character development. I especially enjoy building stories around player backstories and weaving their choices directly into the larger narrative. I also enjoy homebrew design and adapting systems to fit unique settings and themes. Some of my larger projects have included adapting settings like Elden Ring and Dragon Age into D&D, as well as creating crossover and conversion systems involving World/Chronicles of Darkness and Lord of Mysteries. Especially Lord of Mysteries... Some of my favorite settings and inspirations include Middle-earth, Ravenloft, Eberron, Wildemount, Dune, and the World of Darkness universe. Outside of online GMing, I’ve also been working on building an after-school LARPing program focused on creativity, storytelling, teamwork, and roleplay for younger players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created together during Session 0. Please come with one or more character concepts, but do not create a completed character beforehand. Dragon Age campaigns are strongest when the party's backgrounds, goals, and relationships are developed as a group. All characters will begin at **Level 1**. We will use the Dragon Age RPG Core Rulebook for character creation. Additional material may be approved on a case-by-case basis. During Session 0 we will: * Create characters together * Establish party connections and shared history * Discuss personal goals and motivations * Determine how each character became involved with the organization investigating these mysteries * Review the campaign's themes and expectations Characters should have a reason to engage with the campaign's central mysteries. Grey Wardens, scholars, scouts, explorers, diplomats, rogues, mages, soldiers, nobles, merchants, and agents of various organizations can all fit well within the story. The campaign focuses heavily on investigation, exploration, ancient history, political intrigue, and difficult choices. Characters who are curious, proactive, and interested in uncovering secrets will have the most opportunities to shine. No prior knowledge of Dragon Age is required, though familiarity with the setting can be helpful. New players are welcome, and I am happy to teach both the system and the setting.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

• Create a free Discord account. • Join the campaign Discord server. • Have a reliable internet connection and a quality microphone/headset. • Create or have access to a Roll20 account. • Read any campaign primers, setting information, or handouts provided before the game. • Come to Session 0 with a rough character concept, even if it is only a starting idea.

What Ashley brings to the table

My goal is to create a living, believable version of Thedas where your choices matter and your characters help shape the course of events. Players can expect: * Detailed maps, handouts, and campaign resources through Roll20 * Organized Discord channels for roleplay, scheduling, lore, and character information * A welcoming environment for both new and experienced players * Session recaps and ongoing campaign support between games * Rich NPCs with distinct personalities, goals, and motivations * Opportunities for character-driven stories and personal arcs I focus heavily on storytelling, immersion, roleplay, exploration, and meaningful player choices. While I enjoy tactical combat, combat is not the primary focus of this campaign. Most challenges can be approached through investigation, diplomacy, planning, knowledge, exploration, or creative problem-solving. Violence is often an option, but rarely the only one. I make use of character voices when inspiration strikes, ambient music when appropriate, and descriptive narration to help bring the world to life. My goal is not to perform for the table, but to create an engaging and memorable story together. I generally follow the rules as written, but I value pacing, fairness, and dramatic storytelling over strict technical interpretations. If a ruling is unclear, I will make a quick decision during play and research it afterward if necessary. Creative ideas are encouraged. If you have a clever plan that fits the story and the world, I will usually look for ways to help it succeed rather than reasons it cannot work. This campaign is inspired by the mystery, discovery, and difficult choices that define Dragon Age at its best. Expect: * Ancient secrets buried beneath Thedas * Political intrigue and competing factions * Moral dilemmas with no perfect answers * Exploration of forgotten ruins and lost civilizations * Relationships that matter * Consequences that echo throughout the campaign The world will react to your actions. Allies can become enemies, enemies can become allies, and the future of Thedas may ultimately depend on the decisions your characters make.

I have many additional sets homebrew rules that I have gathered over the years. We will discuss them during and prior to Session 0.

Safety

How Ashley creates a safe table

Creating a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment is important to me. Before the campaign begins, we will have a Session 0 to discuss expectations, table culture, character concepts, campaign themes, and any concerns players may have. I use a combination of: • Lines & Veils • X, N, & O Cards • Open Door Policy • Ongoing Check-Ins Players may communicate concerns verbally, through Discord messages, or privately at any time. No explanation is required to use a safety tool. If something makes a player uncomfortable, we will address it respectfully and move forward.
