About the adventure

Triumph of the Tusk is a three-part adventure that explores the beginnings of a new chapter in orc history, with the PCs starting at level 3. Each PC is a low-ranking dignitary representing a foreign state, an organization, one of the many orc holds, or even just their own personal ambitions as they seek opportunities in a more welcoming Belkzen. Though this campaign focuses on orcs and the politics of Belkzen, PCs do not have to be orcs to participate meaningfully. If they survive, they’ll become respected advisors and warriors working to preserve (and even unify) Belkzen. If they fail, they might bear witness to the latest tragedy in orc history.

About me

Hi, my name is André, I’m 36 and I’ve been a DM for over 20 years. Fifteen years ago I started doing professional DM work locally on the side while also being a teacher, being hired by a local publisher from my country to DM on events to showcase their games. One of my biggest accomplishments on this front was a partnership with the Culture Department of our city to have a permanent weekly Game Point open to the public where we ran multiple games. Deciding to make Pro DMing a ‘full time job’, taking to professionally DMing online was a natural next step, and I've been doing so for the past five years, managing to gather quite a good community of players organically through the forums and groups I was a part of, as well as word of mouth. I've discovered Start Playing Games somewhat recently, and joined a couple games, talked to a couple of DMs and decided to start taking my Pro DM games here, so here I am.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using Free Archetype, Ancestry Paragon and Gradual Attribute Boost. I will aid the players in the creation of their characters as needed.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to have an account on Discord and join my server (which can be done through this link: https://discord.gg/j9pAGKRacT ) You will also need to set up a free account on The Forge, which is the website where I host my Foundry games (The Forge will prompt you to create a free account once you try to access the game invite link, which will be available on the Discord)

What André brings to the table

I am a GM who loves the Rule of Cool. I will abide by the rules of the system 95% of the time, but I am okay with bending them every now and then to make the players feel cooler or their actions feel more exciting. This is a very roleplay-heavy game, and as such, expect the NPCs to have their own personalities, interests and objectives.

Safety

How André creates a safe table

We will have a thorough Session 0 where we will stablish many tools for conflict resolution, establishing lines and veils as well as how to manage characters when players have to skip a session. After the game we will have a debrief as a group - Probably through the Stars and Wishes models, thou if the group prefers a different approach, I am happy to abide. I will mention as well that my DMs are always open to help players with whatever they may need (as long as it's within my power to help)
