About the adventure

In this beginner friendly Daggerheart adventure, you'll be under the employ of the Dreaded Vampire Lord Sazri as one of his hand picked squad of monsters. Being his best friends and body guards, every day for the past thousand years you've had to hear him wish wistfully that he had a rose from the Divine Garden of the Faceless Ancient. And only now have you found out. A lich has had your lord stricken head over heels in love for centuries, but your master is far too shy and bashful to take the trip through the Unmade Lands to the Divine Garden. As his best friends you all have made a pact; for his 10,000th death day you all are going to finally get him that rose and help that undead heart of his find love! This game will feature: 🌌Bafflingly deep cosmological lore 🌹Rom-com stylings over horrific settings/acts 🧟‍♂️The Void Playtest Transformation rules for character creation (Werewolf, Vampire, etc) 🏴‍☠️An anti-hero tone and vibe ❓The realization that some things should be left unknown

About me

I'm a queer GM with many hats! I have education mostly in computer science, creative writing, and asset creation. I enjoy creating community, memorable moments, and connections between people and the stories we make together. I've made a lot of long time friends out of players, some of whom I've helped coach into being my GMs! I love putting table top roleplaying game systems together like puzzles, guiding the players along my process until they can see the full picture of the system itself, and the story I've used to tell with it. To explain that a little bit; I see it as a challenge to show the players as many different aspects of whatever I'm running to them, to get a clear of a picture of the game as I can while also keeping everything coherent enough to be enjoyable. But if you need help writing your backstory, please keep in mind I love soap operas.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll be doing character creation together as a group during Session 0 as Daggerheart requires a lot of collaboration between players for worldbuilding and party creation. I hope that everyone takes a look at the provided Daggerheart books we have available currently (Core and Void playtest materials), before the Session 0, but starting from scratch is just fine! We can also have one-on-one talks outside of game time if you need advice or help with character creation.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Since we'll be using FoundryVTT to play the game, all you'll need to do is join the Discord server and check out the resources section!

What D@3D brings to the table

I provide voiced NPCs, an optional playlist to listen to while playing, and an atmosphere that promotes joining in on the fun! While I value the Rules As Written, I also like to indulge my players when a good chance comes up to give one of them the spotlight for a minute or two. I also only use official assets in play, ones I've made myself, or commissioned! I also edit videos, at the start we'll discuss if we'll be recording our game, and if so I'll put some work on it, and send a compressed version your way when its finished! (YouTube uploads can also be discussed)

Homebrew rules

We'll be using the Void playtest materials, they aren't technically official yet, but they're a fun expansion to the game, and our concept relies on the transformation mechanic.

Safety

How D@3D creates a safe table

The beginning of the session will consist of a short 'Session 0' conversation where we'll go over the safety tools, content warnings, game mechanics, and how they all relate to the world of Daggerheart. During that conversation we'll also compose a Hard and Soft Boundaries/Lines and Veils document for possible reference later, and also discuss any optional rules or any topics that weren't covered yet. After the session we'll go over everything that happened, reminisce, and let the energy come down!
