About the adventure
Earth has lost its ability to sustain life. Humanity clings by a thread. As a member of Project ReSeed you have been tasked with fixing the planet and saving humanity. Your support is limited, the project is deeply in debt, and you’ll have to build the infrastructure you need to accomplish this mission. Your passion and expertise is needed if the Project has any chance of success. In Project Reseed you will explore an alien world, capture strange creatures, engineer new life forms, build your base of operations and, if you’re successful, preserve a future for the human race. Project ReSeed is an exploration based hexcrawl inspired by monster farmer/pet collector games, life simulation RPGs, and base-builders. If you’ve ever thought it would be fun to play a mash up of Pokémon and Stardew Valley set in No Man’s Sky, this is your game.

About me
I'm a Canadian cat-dad with a garden full of strawberries and heart full of dreams. I've been designing, playing, and running table-top games for some twenty-odd years, mostly underground for small-to-medium groups of friends or people I meet online. These days I'm looking to spend most of my time GMing online, and we're halfway there. I especially enjoy learning and digesting new systems, so any excuse to get into some new mechanics is sure to get me going. I'll try running anything at least once, with a few notable exceptions for my own sanity and love of gaming.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Characters will be built collaboratively during Session 0, to ensure party cohesion and system confidence. Some modifications will be made to standard character creation, as follows: 🧠 - More Skill Points: As you're from a sci-fi world, education is the norm. ❌ - No Magic: This is a sci-fi setting, so characters will not start with classical magic. Sci-Fi Arcane Backgrounds available on request, with limitations. 🐴 - Edges that involve or improve Pets or Mounts are unavailable as those will be granted to all characters through campaign rewards. 🎒- Characters will choose between catered equipment packages designed for the adventure. Supplied on request or during Session 0. 🎲 - Characters start with 5 Trait Points, and 15 Skill Points. They may take Hindrances to gain extra Skills, Traits, or Edges (but not gain additional starting funds - see above). 👽 - You may either be Human, or design a custom Species (Race) (with +2 Points, as standard). Earth is considered to be post-humanity, with many choosing to modify themselves into new unique species, and just as many remaining more or less the human we are familiar with. Uplifted animals are all that remains of the biosphere.

Safety
How Alex creates a safe table
I have a standard pair of rules that all my players follow, covered in my interview. Rules, the Safety Deck, Lines & Veils, as well as my Open Door and Break policy will be fully explained in Session 0, but: Each player will be given an opportunity to add to my standard Lines & Veils for this game during our Interview. Roll20's Safety Deck will be gone over - it varies slightly in design from standard X, N, O cards but works functionally the same. I always endeavor to include a 10 minute break mid-session for people to stretch and take care of themselves, and players are encouraged to call for one if it's needed. In addition, players that need to step away on their own due to personal emergencies or a need for emotional space are encouraged to do so, without any repercussions. Life has a way of happening.
