About the adventure
The bombs fell. The buildings collapsed into a fifteen-floor dungeon. And the whole galaxy is watching to see how long you last. This is Dungeon Crawler Carl β the brutal, hilarious, televised death-crawl from Matt Dinniman's best-selling series, run on a fully kitted Foundry VTT. You're a Crawler: clothing optional, sponsorships mandatory, achievements unlocked in real time by an AI that thinks your suffering is entertainment. Descend through the floors. Survive the mobs. Play to the audience β viewers mean loot, and loot means you live a little longer. **π© The system** Runs on a custom, modified 5e engine I built to capture the DCC experience β achievements, cooldowns, loot boxes, sponsorships, and the audience mechanics that make the World Dungeon feel alive. Familiar if you know 5e, different enough to feel like the books. **π© Why this table is different** 45 years behind the screen (since 1981). DMs Guild writer. Celestial-tier backer of the official DCC RPG, and I've read and listened to every book in the series. I know this world cold β the comedy, the horror, the absurd corporate cruelty of the System. **π© What you'll get at this table** - **Foundry VTT premium production** β full automation, dynamic lighting, animated effects. - **Live Syrinscape soundscapes** β the hum of the System, the roar of the crowd, the alarms when something big notices you. - **The System AI voiced in character** β achievement pop-ups, sponsorship offers, and announcements delivered with the right unhinged glee. - **Custom NPC portraits** β every Bopca shopkeeper, every monster, every talk-show host. - **Lethal, funny, fast combat** β the Dungeon doesn't pull punches and neither do I. Death is real. So is glory. **π© When this game runs** Saturdays β check the session schedule for your local time. 3 hours per session. **π© Safety at the table** Session 0 covers lines, veils, and what's on or off the table. DCC is dark comedy with real horror underneath β body horror, death, and gore. Open Door policy throughout. X/N/O cards in chat. Stars & Wishes between sessions. **π© Who thrives here** - Fans of the books who want to crawl their own story (no spoilers for unread floors) - Newcomers who like dark comedy, video-game logic, and high stakes **Crawlers descend the moment 4 seats fill.** Book now to lock your character and get the Session 0 welcome pack within 24 hours.

View Profile βCharacter creation
Creating your character
Two paths, your choice: OPTION 1 β Pre-Generated Crawlers (recommended for your first descent) I provide a roster of fully-built Crawlers using my custom DCC system β classic archetypes covering different playstyles. Show up, pick the one that calls to you, ready to descend. No prep, no rulebook math. OPTION 2 β Build Your Own Crawler Want to make your own? We'll build it together using my custom DCC-flavoured ruleset. You bring the concept β who were you before the world collapsed, and what kind of Crawler are you becoming? I'll handle the mechanics with you in a pre-session session. Every Crawler comes with a hook and a reason they survived. No prior knowledge of the books or system required β if you've read the series you'll recognise the world, if you haven't, I'll teach you everything at the table. Character creation happens before Session 1 β we don't burn descent time on it.
Party of 4-6 Crawlers. Pre-gens available or build your own using my custom DCC system. No prior knowledge of the books needed β newcomers and superfans both welcome. Dark comedy, real stakes, and an audience watching everything you do.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before your first descent: 1. Join the campaign Discord (link sent after booking) β session reminders, character sheets, achievement logs, between-session chat. 2. Create your Foundry VTT account at foundryvtt.com β it's free, takes 2 minutes. No prior Foundry experience needed; I'll get you set up before Session 1. 3. Have your Crawler ready β pre-gen or your own build. We'll sort it in the pre-session chat. 4. Test your mic. Camera optional, mic required. 5. Read the Session 0 welcome pack I send 48 hours before Session 1 β covers the System, the basics of crawling, and what your character knows waking up in the Dungeon. No need to have read the books. Show up ready to descend.
What Jase brings to the table
At this table, you'll get: π© Foundry VTT premium production β fully rewritten DCC style ruleset with automation built in. π© The System AI voiced in character β achievement pop-ups, sponsorship offers, and announcements delivered with the right unhinged glee. The System is a character at this table, not a menu. π© Live Syrinscape soundscapes β the hum of the floor, the roar of the crowd, the alarms when something big notices you, the static of an incoming announcement. π© Custom NPC portraits β every Bopca shopkeeper, every monster, every talk-show host and sponsor god. π© The full DCC experience β loot boxes, cooldowns, the achievement system, sponsorships, and an audience that reacts to everything you do. Play to the cameras. The viewers decide if you live well or die poor. π© Lethal, funny, fast combat β the Dungeon doesn't pull punches and neither do I. Death is real. So is glory. Rule of Cool for the moments that earn a highlight reel. π© Deep source knowledge β 45 years DMing, Celestial-tier DCC backer, every book read and listened to. I know the tone cold. π© Between-session support β active Discord for build theorycrafting, lore, and reacting to your last descent.
Homebrew rules
The whole game is my custom DCC-flavoured ruleset, but here's what to expect at the table: π© The Achievement System is live. Do something clever, brutal, or hilarious and the System notices. Achievements come with rewards β and the audience loves them. π© Sponsorships and loot boxes. The System offers you deals. Some are traps. All are entertaining. π© Cooldowns, not just spell slots. Abilities and items run on timers, video-game style. π© Death is real and it's televised. But going out spectacularly is its own reward β the crowd remembers a good death. π© Play to the cameras. Viewer engagement is a resource. Boring Crawlers get ignored. Entertaining ones get gifts. π© Rule of Cool reigns. If your idea is awesome and the dice cooperate, we make it happen.

Safety
How Jase creates a safe table
Safety isn't an emergency tool at my table β it's how good tables stay good. DCC is dark comedy built on genuine horror: body horror, gore, on-screen death, profanity, and the existential cruelty of a corporation that turned the apocalypse into a game show. Safety tools mean we can lean into the genre confidently. Session 0: Before our first session, we have a 1-on-1 chat covering lines (hard nos), veils (themes we fade to black on), and any personal triggers. Whatever you tell me stays between us. X, N, O Cards: Used throughout sessions via Discord chat. X = stop and cut this content, N = let's not go further down this path, O = I'm comfortable, keep going. Use them anytime, no questions asked, no judgment. Open Door Policy: Step away from any session at any time, for any reason. Your wellbeing comes before the show. Stars and Wishes: At the end of each session, the table shares Stars (what worked) and Wishes (what could be better). Keeps the table improving. Aftercare: If a descent hits something heavy, I check in privately afterwards.
