About the adventure

The Visitor's Lot is a game intended to run as a campaign following a group of edgerunners who live in one of the more colorful neighborhoods of Night City: The Visitor's Lot. Obscured by the converted ruins of Eagle Rock Stadium in the Rancho Coronado district, the Lot was once used as a secure parking lot for visiting sports fans to protect them from the righteous fervor of Night City sports enthusiasts. Now, it is another cargo container village, stacked and condensed. Home. This game will see you taking your edgerunner(s) through a series of jobs and side hustles they need to fund their stylish and dangerous lifestyle. You can expect to see content from both official sources and custom content as well as the ability to plan your own jobs should you acquire the skill and the reputation. Take big risks, take big rewards. But be warned, Night City is an unforgiving place and it would be foolish for anyone to think they will live forever. We are all ultimately visitors in Night City. And that's the Visitor's Lot in life.

About me

I have been playing role-playing games for as long as I care to remember (20+ years). I started with Dungeons & Dragons 3rd edition in middle school and found myself enamored with the process of creating not just simple characters doing funny and awesome things, but entire worlds and lifelong memories. I find myself using the term "forever GM" to describe my relationship to tabletop games and I decided to take it to the next level by offering professional services to compliment that passion. I like tabletop games for what they bring out of people: stories, emotions, laughter. Whether it is a one-shot to kill some time or a years long campaign with epic implications, I run the gamut of GMing. It isn't just running the game that interests me. I also enjoy the preparation and the world-building that goes into running games, even smaller ones. In that same vein, I enjoy teaching new systems to new players and helping to create unforgettable moments. So if you are new to the game or an old-timer like me, I think I would have something to offer anyone.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players should feel free to make their characters using any of the three of the core rule book variants for character creation (streetrats, edgerunner, and complete package). If you are signing up as a group then you can come with characters already made and we can dive right into the first job. Otherwise, we will make characters as a group during the first session. There are no restrictions for using source materials.

The current party

Our crew currently has a nomad/fixer, a rockerboy, a techie, and a solo. I would prefer characters not have more than 150 improvement points in total accumulated.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need access to at least a Discord account as the game will take place completely on it. You should also consider some artwork to represent your character(s) that I can use to make tokens to represent you on maps.

What Brett brings to the table

Aside from the experience itself, I can also provide all of the resources needed to play and thrive. I have playlists to represent the many radio stations heard in Night City; cheat sheets for the crunchy rules portions and for role abilities; maps from both official source books and that I create myself; and all of the books we would need (including character sheets). I run the game through Discord and occasionally stream encounters from it for the group so there are no additional tools or resources needed from players. The game will be fairly split between theater-of-the-mind and encounters represented with maps and tokens.

Homebrew rules

I don't use any 2077 or Edgerunners content (other than for music and inspiration).

Safety

How Brett creates a safe table

I like to go over expectations and any lines that people have during session zero. Otherwise, I prefer to go over the session afterward and debrief and troubleshoot then.
