About the adventure
Looking to recapture the feeling of exploring a pokemon world that you don't already know forward and back? How about one steeped in mythology, that you can discover alongside characters whisked to another world? Drawing inspiration from Legends Arceus, Mystery Dungeon, and the wider isekai genre (without the parts that give it a bad name), you'll try and solve the mystery of how and why you're there, deal with the politics of a land where the gods are very much real and involved, and maybe even try and find a way back home. This is intended to be a long term campaign, adapting to what the players want out of it.

About me
I starting playing tabletop games back in college, and my very first session was as dungeon master - after the person who'd offered to run our first game flaked on us, I rolled up my sleeves and did it myself, and I've been both playing and running consistently for the 15 years ever since. I've run in person and online, home games, at clubs, and in west march servers, in a variety of systems, though I prefer systems with a robust mechanical foundation. I like to have and know the tools and rules at our disposal, which makes it easier to know when it's time to bend them in service of the story. I've also dabbled in homebrew and system creation over the years, though only ever on a personal basis.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen in and around session zero, starting at level one. We'll be using pokemon tabletop Reunited 2e for it's foundry integration, and using the in foundry sheets. For players joining later, I'll put aside time to make a character outside of session so you can get in as quickly as possible.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to be able to access Foundry, as well as join a discord server for pre-game safety communication and character sheet selection. For players who don't know the system but want to read up in advance for their own sakes, I'll make links available to the free rules pdfs, but this is by no means mandatory, and I can help players build their characters based on what vibe they have in mind during session zero.
What Andrew brings to the table
I want to tell the stories my players are interested in - I've crafted a world for you to explore, but what you do in it is down to you. If you want a big save the world adventure, political intrigue, more sandbox exploration, all of these are options, and which I focus on is based entirely on what you want out of the game. It's a very crunchy system, but I'll be using Foundry to bear the brunt of the mechanical tracking and complexity, for both myself and the players, letting us focus less on the spreadsheet management and more on telling stories. And the rules are a framework - if you have a cool idea and it makes sense, even if the rules don't exactly agree I'm happy to make it work (though I draw the line at using the sprinklers to electrocute a ground type)
Homebrew rules
We will be using the pokemon tabletop reunited variation, because that's what has foundry integration. It's primarily a balance patch - the options in the original books all still exist, they just might have had their effects tweaked.

How Andrew creates a safe table
Players will have access to a lines and veils document via the discord as soon as they join. I firmly believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and so I want to know what my players are comfortable with before session one is even written, and we can focus on playing the game at the table (though of course no plan is perfect, and if something comes up, I am always open to players doing whatever they need to for their own mental safety).
