About the adventure

This is Lost Mine of Phandelver — the friendliest on-ramp Wizards has ever published, rebuilt for the 2024 rules and run on a fully kitted Foundry VTT. 8 sessions, levels 1 to 5, complete in itself. We start with goblin trouble on the Triboar Trail and end with the Forge of Spells in Wave Echo Cave. Loved it? Act 2 — The Shattered Obelisk — picks up the same characters at level 5. **Why this table is different** I've been running tabletop games since 1981 — that's 45 years of teaching new players the game. I write for the DMs Guild. I'm neurodivergent, and patient by default. Every verified review on my profile is 5 stars. I'm built for first-time players who want a real campaign, not a watered-down demo. **✨ What you'll get at this table** - **Foundry VTT premium stack** — full automation so you can focus on playing, not bookkeeping. No prior Foundry experience needed; I'll get you set up before Session 1. - **Animated maps with dynamic lighting** — the Forge of Spells lights up. The Sleeping Giant tavern has the right kind of yellow lamplight. - **Custom Midjourney NPC portraits** — Sister Garaele, Sildar, the Rockseekers. Everyone you'll actually care about. - **Live Syrinscape ambient audio** — forest, tavern, mine, cave, ruin. Each scene shifts the mood. - **Pre-generated characters available** if you don't want to build one yet. Build your own later when you're comfortable. - **Patient, structured rules teaching** — combat, ability checks, advantage/disadvantage. We learn as we go. **✨ When this game runs** Tuesdays, 11:00 AM Brisbane — which is Monday 9:00 PM US Eastern, Monday 6:00 PM US Pacific. 3 hours per session. **✨ Safety at the table** Session 0 covers expectations, lines, and veils. Open Door policy — step away whenever. Stars & Wishes at the end of each session. A welcoming table is a productive table. **✨ Who thrives here** - Complete beginners — never rolled dice in your life? Welcome. - Returning players who haven't played in years - Experienced players who enjoy beginner energy and helping new folks find their feet - Anyone who wants to try D&D without committing to a 2-year epic **✨ The campaign** 8 sessions, levels 1 to 5. Clean stopping point at the end. If the group wants to keep going, Act 2 (The Shattered Obelisk, levels 5–12) picks up the same characters. **Session 1 launches the moment 4 seats fill.** Book now to lock your pre-gen and get the Session 0 welcome pack within 24 hours.

Character creation

Creating your character

Two paths, your choice: OPTION 1 — Pre-Generated Characters (recommended for beginners) I provide fully-built level 1 characters covering the classic D&D roles — fighter, wizard, cleric, rogue, and more. Show up, pick the hero who calls to you, ready to play. OPTION 2 — Build Your Own Standard rules apply: Standard Array or Point Buy, starting level 1, 2024 Player's Handbook content (2014 fine if you prefer). New to character building? I'll walk you through it before Session 1. Character creation happens before Session 1 — we don't burn table time on it.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before Session 1: 1. Join the campaign Discord (link sent after booking) — session reminders, character handouts, between-session chat. 2. Create your Foundry VTT account at foundryvtt.com — it's free, takes 2 minutes. No prior Foundry experience needed; I'll get you set up before Session 1. 3. Have your character ready — pre-gen or your own build. We'll sort this in the pre-session chat. 4. Test your mic. Camera optional, mic required. 5. Read the Session 0 welcome pack I send 48 hours before Session 1. That's it. Show up ready to play.

What Jase brings to the table

At this table, you'll get: ✨ Foundry VTT premium production — full 2024 SRD automation, clean combat workflows, dynamic lighting, animated effects. ✨ Live ambient soundscapes via Syrinscape — every scene shifts the mood. Forest, tavern, mine, cave, ruin. ✨ Custom NPC portraits — every named character in Phandalin gets a Midjourney-rendered portrait. Sister Garaele, Sildar Hallwinter, the Rockseekers, Gundren. You'll remember faces. ✨ Distinctly voiced NPCs — Klarg doesn't sound like Glasstaff. The Black Spider doesn't sound like Nezznar's underlings. ✨ Patient, structured rules teaching — combat, ability checks, advantage/disadvantage. We learn as we go. ✨ Story-first pacing — we don't get bogged down in rules lookups during dramatic moments. Keep the momentum, sort the math afterwards. ✨ Pre-generated characters available if you don't want to build one yet. Build your own later when you're comfortable with the rules. ✨ Between-session support — active Discord for questions, character development, bonus roleplay. ✨ 45 years of DMing behind every session. Prepared, on time, ready.

Homebrew rules

A few small rules of the road that smooth out 5e at my table: 🎲 Standard Array or Point Buy for ability scores. No rolled stats — keeps the table balanced. ⚡ Potions as a bonus action. Drinking a healing potion mid-combat shouldn't burn your whole turn. 💀 Death saves stay private. Only you and I know how close you are to dying — keeps the tension real. ✨ Inspiration is generous. Good roleplay, clever ideas, character moments that make the table grin — I hand out Inspiration freely. 🛡️ Critical hits deal max damage on the first die, then roll the rest. Crits feel like crits.

Safety

How Jase creates a safe table

Safety isn't an emergency tool at my table — it's how good tables stay good. Especially for newer players, having clear safety practices makes the game more fun, not less. Session 0: Before our first session, we have a 1-on-1 chat covering lines (hard nos), veils (themes we fade to black on), and any personal triggers. Whatever you tell me stays between us. X, N, O Cards: Used throughout sessions via Discord chat. X = stop and cut this content, N = let's not go further down this path, O = I'm comfortable, keep going. Use them anytime, no questions asked, no judgment. Open Door Policy: Step away from any session at any time, for any reason. Take a break, grab water, take the night off. Your wellbeing comes first. Stars and Wishes: At the end of each session, the table shares Stars (what worked) and Wishes (what could be better next time). Keeps the table improving. Aftercare: If a session hits something heavy, I check in privately afterwards. Phandelver is a heroic adventure — there will be combat danger, some moral ambiguity, and the occasional dark moment (the Redbrand storyline gets ugly). Safety tools mean we can lean in confidently.
