About the adventure
It has been two years since the end of the Last War. The conflicts, the anger, and the pain of the long war remain, however, and the new nations seek every advantage as they prepare for the next war to break out on the continent. The Treaty of Thronehold recognized many new nations, including the Lhazaar Principalities. This loose confederacy of pirate lords, merchant princes, and sea barons holds the northeastern coastline of Khorvaire and the many mist-shrouded islands scattered across it. Each island domain has its own values, goals, and feuds with other domains. The Lhazaar are the finest sailors in Khorvaire. During the Last War, they served all nations as privateers and engaged in piracy on the side. When the war ended, they returned to the merchant trade, but pirates still hunt on the open seas. You will be part of a new pirate crew. Starting with a small ship, and even smaller wallets, you will gradually build your reputation and renown as your adventures lead you to the lost treasure of Lhazaar the Pirate Queen! New players are encouraged to join, as I love introducing people to the game and world of Eberron!

About me
Howdy! I've been playing TTRPGs for 6 years now and have been a GM since the beginning. I enjoy roleplay-heavy games/groups and I always try to make my players feel like their choices and actions have real weight in the story and the world around their characters. For D&D, I like running campaigns in my homebrew worlds, but Eberron also has a special place in my geeky heart. I enjoy games other than D&D of course. I love science fiction, and Mothership is probably my favorite RPG at the moment. Overall, I love playing with new people, letting them steer the direction of the story, and doing funny voices!

Creating your character
I will work with each player to create a character for the campaign. Players will create their character in Foundry, which is the VTT we will be using. I use the traditional stat-rolling method of 5e: Roll 4d6 and drop the lowest. But players are also welcome to use point buy if they prefer. The campaign will begin at level 3. I recommend using the Eberron: Rising from the Last War and Forge of the Artificer books as a starting point for characters, but all official 5e content is acceptable when creating a character. When it comes to Homebrew and third-party content, I am open to it so long as I get to review it first.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
The only things you will need to bring with you are a working microphone and a discord account to play this game. You do not need to know anything about 5e dungeons and dragons or the Eberron setting.
What Conner brings to the table
I will be bringing a FoundryVTT license that we will use for the majority of the game. I enjoy making maps and homebrew content for the game so you can expect plenty of that. I bring a variety of character voices that I enjoy doing for NPCs and monsters. I will also be bringing music that will play during the game through discord using a bot (though you can always mute it if you prefer). I know the rules of the system very well, but I embrace the Rule of Cool and encourage my players to narrate and describe many of their own actions. I also place an emphasis on player agency. In other words, your actions and decisions will have meaningful effects on the story and world around you. What you do matters!
Homebrew rules
1. Death saves are hidden from the other players. 2. Roll for HP after level 1. You can reroll 1's if you wish.

Safety
How Conner creates a safe table
I take player safety and comfort very seriously, if at any point a player feels uncomfortable with what is happening, they are free to take a break without judgement. There is also always a 10 minute break halfway through the session for everyone. Additionally, I always do a session 0 with the group and new players before we start to get everyone familiar with each other and what is and is not allowed at the table. I have a zero-tolerance policy for players that intentionally make others uncomfortable or violate boundaries.
