About the adventure
The tranquil beauty of Lake Tahoe belies the brewing storm among its supernatural inhabitants. The California-Nevada border is not just a line in the sand—it’s a battleground. The Camarilla and Anarch factions are locked in an intense, bloody power struggle over territory, influence, and the secrets hidden within the area’s precarious divide. Every shadow holds a rival’s scheme; every whispered deal teeters on betrayal. Yet Kindred politics aren’t the only threat stalking Tahoe’s nights. The state parks, with their towering redwoods and moonlit trails, are the unyielding domain of werewolves. Unforgiving protectors of the natural world, they prowl the wilderness, enforcing their own harsh laws and slaughtering any vampire foolish enough to trespass. And deep beneath the lake’s crystal-clear waters lies something far more sinister: an ancient, primordial evil that stirs with the passing decades. Its slumber is fragile, and every ripple of conflict above threatens to awaken its wrath. Will the Kindred heed this looming danger—or will their thirst for dominance drown the Masquerade in chaos?

Creating your character
Character creation will take place in session 0. This allows us to dive straight into the story and ensures everyone comes prepared with their personas ready to enter Lake Tahoe's shadowy world. Players will build their characters following the guidelines in the official Vampire: The Masquerade rulebooks. I’ll provide guidance on assigning attributes, skills, and disciplines to match your concept. Your Kindred will begin as neonates—newly embraced vampires finding their footing within the complex politics of Tahoe’s supernatural society. Their starting powers will be modest but enough to explore their clan's unique strengths. Please refer to the official Vampire: The Masquerade rulebooks (5th Edition) for character creation. What I Provide: Guidance for character creation, including help with choosing a clan, disciplines, and backgrounds. Support for tying your character's backstory into the Lake Tahoe setting, with options for local ties or intriguing out-of-town origins.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Player Preparation Guide: Hardware & Setup: Players will need a reliable computer or laptop. A microphone is essential for clear communication; a webcam is optional but welcome if you prefer face-to-face interaction. A stable internet connection is a must for seamless gameplay. Please create an account on Roll20 and familiarize yourself with the basics of navigation. Join my Discord for voice chat and in-game updates. Be sure to have Discord installed and tested. Game Knowledge: While no prior experience is necessary, a basic understanding of "Vampire: The Masquerade" mechanics will enhance your experience. I recommend skimming through the core rules for 5th Edition if you have access. If you’re new to the game, don’t worry—I’ll provide an overview during character creation and throughout our sessions! Please review the Vampire: The Masquerade rulebook for clan options, disciplines, and character backgrounds. I encourage you to think about your character's backstory and motivations, especially how they might fit into Lake Tahoe's supernatural conflicts. If you'd like, you can explore lore about the Kindred, the Camarilla, and the Anarchs to deepen your understanding of the world. This isn’t mandatory but could spark creative ideas! Think about how your character might react to the werewolf presence in the state parks or the ancient evil that slumbers in the lake. Be ready for mature themes and intense roleplay. As safety is important, we’ll be using Lines & Veils to ensure everyone’s comfort.
What Robert (Mr. Pezz) brings to the table
I run games using Roll20, complete with custom maps, tokens, and assets tailored to our Lake Tahoe setting. The visuals will immerse you in the haunting beauty of the Sierra Nevada. I curate soundscapes that evoke the eerie calm of moonlit forests, the tension of Kindred politics, and the primal terror of ancient evil stirring beneath the lake. Prepare for a story-rich experience with dynamic NPCs, evocative descriptions, and character-driven plots. I’ll craft moments that feel personal to your coterie. I prioritize storytelling, player choices, and atmosphere, ensuring the world feels alive and reactive to your actions. While I respect the rules, I’m not afraid to bend them in favor of the Rule of Cool if it enhances the narrative or makes for an unforgettable moment. Whether it’s stealthy maneuvers, political intrigue, or brutal combat, I adapt the intensity and style to match what your group enjoys most. I welcome player input and encourage you to shape the story alongside me. Your choices and backstories will drive the narrative. Safety tools will be in place to ensure everyone’s comfort and enjoyment, especially in darker, more mature themes. I value roleplay and creativity. Bring your bold ideas, and I’ll find a way to work them into the game!

How Robert (Mr. Pezz) creates a safe table
We'll dedicate the session 0 to discussing expectations, setting the tone, and aligning our understanding of safety tools. Topics covered will include themes of the game, comfort levels, character creation, and establishing group dynamics. After intense sessions, I’ll check in with the group to discuss any lingering thoughts or emotions. Players are encouraged to share feedback, whether it’s about safety tools, narrative pacing, or anything else. Optional one-on-one check-ins will be available for deeper conversations if needed. I aim to foster a collaborative environment where player agency is key. While the game will lean into mature themes and supernatural politics, safety tools ensure we navigate these elements respectfully. I prioritize adaptability—whether it’s pacing, tone, or adjusting content based on player input during the game.
