About the adventure

Meridian, a young nation, only 150 years old. Despite its young age, this land has prospered in the face of industrialization, railroads, firearms, the works. With this boom of industry came a boom in westward expansion, furthered by the frenzy following the discovery of Arcanite in abundance. Following this expansion, the nation of Meridian was spread thin, the states of its union set about to squabbling, whether petty or founded, this boiled over into a bitter civil war between the east and the west. The east sought full control and rights of all Arcanite mined and panned out of the west, they levied taxes on the western farmers and ranchers. The west wanted shared access to the Arcanite they mined, they wanted to farm and ranch tax-free. Over the course of 6 years, the war was fought and won by the east, leaving the west in shambles and largely lawless. With the east's victory over the west, taxes were raised and Arcanite was being pulled out of the west in droves. Your story begins a decade after the bloody Meridian Civil War. The west has become lawless, impoverished and spread too thin. Outlaws run rampant in the west, driven by a need for money, a need for a chance. You and your fellow party members are Marshalls, deputized by the Eastern Accord, to bring law and order back to the western expanse. Although... Just because you've been deputized doesn't mean you can't partake in a little crime... Who will know?

Character creation

Creating your character

You may create your character at any time before or during our free session 0, or prior to the first session. Character stats can be rolled 4d6 drop the lowest, you can roll 3 sets and take your preferred, or you can take a standard array of 17, 16, 14, 12, 11, 8. If your 3 sets all end up worse than the standard array, you can choose to take it instead. Health can be rolled or you can take average, if you choose to roll, you can roll twice and take the higher option, rerolling 1s. Homebrew is allowed, however be sure to run it by me before taking anything homebrew unless it's already approved.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord and Roll20 account for this campaign, character sheets will be handled on Roll20.

What Bee brings to the table

As your DM, I utilize my NPCs, vast array of accents/voices/impressions and embellished descriptions to make the world come to life. I pride myself on including everyone in the story, bringing focus to your backstories and getting with each of you to make you feel like you're a part of my setting! I also love creating challenging but fair combats that will leave you on the edge of your seat. These combats are tailored to be nail biters, but not total party killers. I'm also great at improvisation, if you want to make something happen, 9 times out of 10, I will work with you to see what we can do to make that thing happen. If you have a creative way of solving a problem, I can roll with that. Finally, I am a world builder at heart, I have a treasure trove of lore for each setting I create. I will spoil you with so much lore!

Homebrew rules

- Potions: You can drink healing potions as a bonus action regaining the amount rolled, or you can take an action to drink it and regain the maximum possible amount. - Death Saves: I ask that everyone roll death saves privately. - Crafting: I have additional rules for crafting and spell making. - Travel and Downtime: I have additional rules for more travel and downtime activities!

How Bee creates a safe table

We will have a free session 0 to discuss rules and expectations as well as to introduce ourselves to one another. I also have a consent form for each of my players to fill out and private message to me so that we're not stepping on any toes while we play! I also have an open door policy for all of my players, if anyone has a problem with another player, or a ruling I made or just needs assistance with their sheet/the game, you're always free to message me and discuss any questions, comments or concerns you have!
