About the adventure
This one shot is set in the chaotic and lively city of Bilgewater, where those who are fleeing persecution, debt, or justice can start over and gain influence, infamy, and plunder. Its rife with dangerous sea monsters, backstabbing scoundrels, and treacherous landscapes, but also riches beyond your imagination. This adventure is perfect for players new to Dungeons and Dragons (or TTRPGs in general). It also is a blast for anyone who is familar with the Runeterra Universe where League of Legends is set, but that knowledge is not required what-so-ever. You and your crew will be returning from another successful day of piracy, where you celebrate with a drink in a local tavern. Your day won't be over as soon as you expected though, as you will all soon find yourselves in the midst of an invasion by ancient and evil spirits from a neighbouring island. It will be up to you and the crew to decide where you ally yourselves, and how you decide to fight back this threat before it claims the lives of you and the city.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi there! My name is Alex, and I have been GMing for about a year and a half now, and have been playing for about 7 years. I have a Bachelors Degree in Game Design, and work as a Game Designer/Game Dev! My main systems: 🐲DND 5e/2024 🌃Cyberpunk RED ☢Fallout (Arcane Arcade's System). I use Foundry VTT, and strive for high-quality online play, so you can expect some animated maps/tokens, VFX, SFX, music, ambience, custom graphics, and other fun gizmos (some may vary depending on system support). No transphobia, homophobia, racism, or sexism at the table or in the game.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Players should give me a heads up as to what class/subclass they ideally would like to play, but aside from that, character creation will be handled at the start of the session. Characters will be level 3 from start to finish. Characters will be created within Foundry, and all the info the players should need will be inside Foundry.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should firstly join the Discord server (links will be direct messaged through StartPlaying) and specifics will be discussed from there. If you are unaware of how Foundry works, I will be doing a quick demo at the beginning of the session, but I can do a more in depth tutorial at a separate time (for free) if you would like.
What Alex MacDonald brings to the table
My aim is to bring the most immersive experience you can get in a VTT. I will be running a fun, player-centric experience that, while using the rules as a baseline, will allow for Rule of Cool moments that players think up in the moment. Roleplay is encouraged, but never required, for any players who might be a bit shy. Combat will be balanced to the party, and the difficulty can be adjusted depending on how hard/easy the players want it to be. As for what to expect in Foundry... ✅Custom VFX for spells, attacks, abilities, maps, weather, and more! ✅SFX to pair with the VFX for all the above! ✅Handmade maps built with plenty of detail and room for exploration! ✅Custom token art for players, NPCs, and enemies. ✅Immersive music tailored to the scene, map, and mood. ✅Different voicing for the litany of creatures. ✅Custom optional subclasses designed for the setting! ✅Many more features that I can't think of right now!!
Homebrew rules
✔Quality of life rules like bonus action potion drinking, flanking, etc. ✔Homebrewed subclasses designed around the campaign setting. ✔Rule of Cool (if you wanna try something cool/crazy, the right roll can make anything happen!)
