About the adventure

New Orleans has always been a city that remembers—its ghosts linger in the wrought-iron bones of the French Quarter, in the slow rot of the bayou, and in the blood of those who refuse to die. A decade ago, the War of Weeping Cypress tore through the hidden world like a festering wound, pitting Kindred, witches, and stranger things against one another in a shadow conflict that left scars no one speaks of openly. In its aftermath, Prince Marcus rose, casting down the tyrant Magnus Boucher and promising stability where there had only been cruelty. But power taken in blood is never clean, and even now Marcus’ court trembles under the weight of unspoken debts, buried alliances, and the quiet suspicion that the war never truly ended—it merely changed shape. Then came Hurricane Katrina, and the city drowned. Havens were lost, elders vanished, and entire bloodlines were swallowed by flood and fire. In the chaos, something shifted beneath New Orleans. The old boundaries—between mortal and monster, between factions, between the living and the dead—grew thin. Now, years later, the city has rebuilt its face, but not its soul. Kindred whisper of domains that feel wrong, of feeding that leaves a bitter aftertaste, of shadows that seem to watch back. And through it all, mortals have begun to disappear in alarming numbers—vanishing from forgotten neighborhoods, from police records, from memory itself. The official explanation is crime, or transience, or neglect. But the Kindred know better: something is hunting, and it is not bound by the old rules. As tensions rise within Prince Marcus’ fragile reign, every faction seeks someone to blame—or someone to sacrifice. The disappearances threaten the Masquerade, yet investigating them risks uncovering truths buried since the war, truths that could shatter the uneasy peace. Are these vanishings the work of a resurgent enemy from the War of Weeping Cypress? A consequence of Katrina’s unnatural aftermath? Or something older still, awakened by the city’s suffering? The players will find themselves pulled into a tightening web of political maneuvering, ancient grudges, and creeping horror, where every answer deepens the mystery—and every step forward risks drawing the attention of whatever is feeding on New Orleans from the dark. As Neonates, you are drawn into the strange nights of New Orleans in 2011. Years after Katrina and the War of Weeping Cypress. Will you side with those that want stability or will you forge your own path of blood through the night.

About me

I have been playing TTRPGs since the 80s. But I am not one of those guys. I found my stride in GMing in the 90s when the TTRPG scene opened up with so many fabulous new games. I sharpened my GM teeth on games like Shadowrun, Call of Cthulu, Various splats of World of Darkness and of course Dungeons and Dragons. I love anything that is character and story driven. I try to keep my games Roll-lite and more Roleplay. I have played with my current group for the better part of 30 years and they suggested that I try my hand at being paid for what I love. Not that I am just looking to get paid. I want to bring my style and high quality of gaming to any that give me a chance. My Strongest games are Shadowrun, Any World of Darkness and Dungeons and Dragons and what ever system of Superhero game that you can dig up. Other games I love to run are Witchcraft, R. Talsorian's Cyberpunk, Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars, Lancer (Has become a new fave) I love creating worlds that are off the beaten path of a systems standard. I want to nurture my players to become the heroes of what ever setting I run. I am no rules Lawyer but more a "lets do something to fit with our story". Not gonna lie, I will go off book to create something that will enhance a players enjoyment. I will toss rules that are messing up our Christmas! I am laid back but will not suffer munchkins (Unless we are playing that game), Disrupters and Anti-LGBTQIA+, Racists or Fascists! I am told that I am generous to a fault bua

Character creation

Creating your character

The City of New Orleans for this Campaign is crafted by me for the most part. I have a players guide that will be available. For the Session Zero, all you need to come with is a concept and a rough draft using the Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition. There are some changes that I have made that we can get into at the Session Zero. Things to understand: I am not typical for a Storyteller I have cobbled this together with Pieces and concepts of Old World of Darkness, Chronicles of Darkness and Vampire 5th ed. The Meta may or may not be applicable. I like my players to become the movers and shakers. Not the established Meta. Your Ideas are always welcome. If you have a cool idea for your character, lets talk about it, Please feel free to approach me about anything.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I like to use Roll20 and the players choice of Google Meet or Discord. My Preference is Google Meet. There are no Programs or apps to download.

What Frenetic Girl Gaming (GM Persephone) brings to the table

I will bring my shining personality, Quality Role Play, Awesome plot. I try to bring my NPCs to life with voices but I am no Pro Voice Actor. I love Rules as Written but Rule of Cool tends to save the day. I bend the rules all the time honestly. There will hopefully be a character Sheet on the Roll20 (If I get it working Properly. People tend to hate it but there will be combat from time to time. WE are building this together. I just gave the framework. I do not expect people to use Webcams. I tend not to. I just need to hear your lovely voice.

Homebrew rules

I have a players guide to hand out that has all of my changes and additions.
