About the adventure

Ten days ago, the city of Elturel simply disappeared. Now, the survivors of its disappearance are flooding into the city of Baldur's Gate, desperate for a place to stay. The Flaming Fist, the city's guards, are stretched thin and overwhelmed - and need your help. Aid them, protect your city - and find out how an entire city vanished from the map. Your investigation may just take you into the depths of Hell - and the devils you find there might not be so eager to let you go once they have you. Descent into Avernus is a long-term campaign that welcomes newcomers and experienced players alike, taking you from Level 1 all the way to Level 15. Discover the secrets of Baldur's Gate, in this prequel to Baldur's Gate 3 - and find yourselves players in a war that has raged on for longer than even the city itself can remember.

About me

I believe TTRPGs should be available to all, and that complicated rules shouldn't bar entry for a cool and fascinating new game - I am to make things as easy as possible for new and old players alike. The table should be a fun, comfortable and engaging place for EVERYONE involved - which is why I also do not compromise on safety tools. I like discovering new ways to use a system, homebrewing if necessary, or using the rules as given in new ways to make sure even experienced players in a system have something new to grapple with. I'm also a big fan of misdirection...so don't believe everything you see. It's a poor storyteller that you can trust entirely.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be finalized at Session Zero. Players will be creating Level 1 characters; any partnered content outside classes and races from the Player's Handbook must be GM-approved.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will require a working mic, a Discord account, and a Roll20 account. Links to the Discord and Roll20 will be provided to players once they've signed up for the game.

What Armaan brings to the table

D&D Beyond Compendium for character creation Roll20 maps and tokens Discord for Voice and Video Chat As a GM, I default to Rules as Written, but also enjoy leaning into Rule of Cool when the situation calls for it.

Homebrew rules

Some homebrew rules: Drinking a potion is a bonus action. Players can come up with unique moves, spells, techniques and proficiencies they would like for their character beyond what their levels ups would allow, and I will set training goals or quests for them to be able to add it to their sheets.

Safety

How Armaan creates a safe table

The X card shall always be in play, as will an Open Door policy. During Session Zero, a Palatte Grid will be set up, gathering things that the party is interested in exploring - and finding out what they're not interested in having in the game at all.
