About the adventure

Acolytes, The Calixis Sector is rotting from the inside out, and the Emperor’s light is flickering. In The Apostasy Gambit, you aren’t hunting monsters in the vents, you’re hunting the rot inside the Imperium's most sacred institutions. This is a campaign of holy paranoia. You’ll be dropped into a web of high-level corruption and religious extremism where the most dangerous person in the room isn't the mutant, it’s the Cardinal holding the lexicon to your holy Emperor. Over three chapters, the stakes escalate from a low-level mystery to a sector-wide meltdown: -The Black Sepulchre- You’re investigators in a gothic noir, digging through ancient vaults and noble secrets to find out why the sector's foundation is cracking. -The Church of the Damned- You step into the gilded halls of the Ecclesiarchy. It’s a political minefield where a social slip-up is just as lethal as a bolter shell. -The Chaos Commandment- The masks come off. This is total war against a conspiracy, convinced that the only way to save the Sector is to burn it to ash. A group called the Maledictor’s Hand believes they are the true heroes, and they’re ready to kill billions to prove it. You’re the only ones standing in their way. The question isn't just whether you can stop them, it’s how much of your own humanity you’ll have to burn away to get the job done. Goal Start Date for the campaign is May 26th, available players allowing.

About me

Welcome to my Realm of Oddities! I'm Dani, aka CaptPanDaddy, and I have been telling stories for over two decades. I excel at theater of the mind, but am skilled at many different styles of storytelling. I have run campaigns that have gone on for years to simpler, single-session one-shots. There isn't an obstacle I can't help you and your characters overcome, from the most epic achievements to even the sad losses of our favorite characters and NPCs. I am an extremely empathetic and caring person, who's ultimate goal at every table is to make sure my players are having a good time. Because, what good is art if you can't share it with others? Some personal details about me, your potential story teller. I am disabled, I have multiple physical and mental disabilities that leave me generally home bound. This can be a boon, as it allows me to be accessible with my open door policy, and I will always come from a place of caring. I am also a member of the alphabet mafia and fimly believe that black lives matter, love is love, and #NoKings. If I sound like a storyteller who may be a good fit for you, I am always open to chat and would absolutely welcome you to my table and Discord community.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using standard as-written character creation rules and will have a Session 0 to build characters. This session 0 is not free, as it does take a lot of work on my end to build the Foundry Server and get things prepared for as smooth an experience as I can give you all. However, the goal of Session 0 is to build your patron, characters, and connections to each other. The campaign starts in action, and there won't be immediate ability for the characters to learn of each other's abilities, so connections or stuff one would find in a dossier will be talked about.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I recommend giving the rules a general look-over. I am happy and more than able to teach as we play, but it makes for a much smoother experience for everyone if each player has a general understanding of the rules. You will need to download Discord for voice server access, server links, and session announcements at a minimum, but you are welcome to participate in the entire community as much as you wish. Your presence, input, and true authentic self are safe in my community.

What CaptPanDaddy / Dani brings to the table

I will provide a self-hosted Foundry server that is kitted with the official Imperium Maledictum system. This will make access to rules, character info, and any content that the official rules provide an easy experience. I will provide 20+ years of experience in the TTRPG as a Story-Teller. Having run countless games, with various systems, with a varitable smorgasbord of different people from different walks of life. As your ST I will also gladly provide a supportive experience, as I am disabled and neurodivergent, I firmly believe in support, self-care, and safety being priorities at my table.

Homebrew rules

At this time, there are no intended homebrew rules, but I am a very hands-on ST and adapt as needed.

Safety

How CaptPanDaddy / Dani creates a safe table

Safety is my top priority at my table. In a space where we are sharing stories as a group, where those stories can be carried in so many different directions because each of us is an individual with our own way of approaching the game. To that end, I will expect a Monte Cooks Consent Checklist filled out, and you will receive one from me as far as my own personal lines and veils. The X card will be built into Foundry so folks can easily stop a scene, and we can either discuss or move on as needed.
