About the adventure
Welcome to The Dungeon of the Mad Mage, a classic campaign with a modern twist, where we—a group of brave adventurers—will try to conquer the biggest and deepest dungeon in Faerûn! The game is going to be a mix of sandbox gameplay and dungeon exploration. When our characters are above ground in the grand city of Waterdeep, it will be mainly a sandbox campaign. Your characters will be free to pursue any goal you wish; whether you desire to become a Masked Lord, start a business, or simply spend your hard-earned dungeoneering money on fun in questionable Waterdeep nightclubs, you can! It’s entirely up to you what kind of goals you would like to pursue. Trust me, your character’s story matters to me, so there is a high chance you will be able to make it come true. And then there’s the elephant in the room that needs to be addressed: the Dungeon itself! Exploration is going to be fun and dangerous. That portion of the campaign will require you and the party as a whole to show off your wit, skills, and tactical thinking as you dive deeper and deeper into Halaster’s domain. Expect challenge and fun!

Creating your character
We are starting at level 5 using the 2024 D&D 5.5E rules. We'll use Point Buy for ability scores and average HP instead of rolling. Every player gets one free uncommon item. Character creation can be done directly in Foundry, but if you have made a character in D&D Beyond, I can port them into the VTT for you.

Preparing for the session
All you need is discord, a working microphone, a PC or a Laptop, and few hours of free time!
What Linu brings to the table
Players will have access to a full collection of sourcebooks directly in Foundry. The game is meticulously set up, featuring detailed maps and atmospheric music to set the mood for every location. You'll encounter a high-quality cast of NPCs throughout the journey, and I’m happy to provide hands-on help with character creation and teaching how to use Foundry VTT. ^__^
