About the adventure
BEGINNER/FIRST TIME PLAYER FRIENDLY!! For fans of science fiction fantasy, Filipino folklore, and horror! ****Explore a planet inspired by the legend of Bakunawa, the sea serpent that devoured the moon. ****Protect the citizens of Tawalisi from those corrupted by Bakunawa, and help prevent their own corruption. ****Uncover mysteries lost to decades of isolation and darkness. ABOUT: This adventure takes place in the Sansinukob Wildspace. This system has 13 planets, held together by a dead and forgotten god at the center. There are no suns here, only moons to illuminate every planet. Fifty years ago, a monstrous sea serpent named Bakunawa awakened from her slumber, consumed by endless hunger. She consumed all six moons above planet Tawalisi, one by one, until they were left in darkness for thirty years. Twenty years ago, the datu, Maximo Catubig, invented Bulan Lights, magical lamps that emit artificial moonlight, finally bringing light back to his people. They were a solace, soon placed in every home in Tawalisi. The people were finally able to thrive again, and Maximo helped pave the way to further technological advancement. However, decades of darkness had taken its toll; Some of the citizens of Tawalisi have become consumed by the same hunger that possessed Bakunawa, mutating their bodies and destroying their minds until all they can think about is eating the Bulan Lights. They will stop at nothing to consume all sources of moonlight, and will hurt and kill anything and anyone that gets in the way. Datu Maximo has called for help from all adventurers willing to listen. Assist him in installing these lights wherever he can, so he can save his people from being plunged into darkness again.

About me
Hi! My name is Noah, Micah, and NoahMicah, you can choose whatever to call me. My pronouns are he/him/his and they/them/theirs and I am half Filipino. I have been GM-ing since 2020, beginning with a way too ambitious homebrewed D&D 5e original story that I still hold dear in my heart. I am an aspiring writer and, as such, I prioritize storytelling and making sure I incorporate as much of my players’ wants and desires for their characters as much as possible. The aspect of communal storytelling is what I love the most about GM-ing TTRPGs. This also includes making sure I make everyone feel comfortable and welcome, be that in ensuring boundaries are respected to incorporating players’ experiences and cultures in the story. I am very proud of my Filipino culture and include that in as many games as possible, so I extend that to my players too. I want to make sure everyone feels heard and has a ton of fun at the same time! Genres I tend to gravitate towards are horror, fantasy, science fiction, and modern/slice of life. Often, I blend one or two or three of these together. If you are looking for deep worldbuilding and a table where your voice is heard and listened to, come on in! I hold all my games on Discord and will provide you with a link when you sign up. I look forward to getting to know you!

Creating your character
We will create our characters during session 0, especially since this is a science fiction/fantasy setting with a Filipino base. It would be best if we talked about character classes and races together in case you would like to tweak them to better fit into a Filipino setting. I also have a 3rd party book made by Filipinos with unique subclasses, two unique classes, and some unique races. Keep in mind that your characters will start at level 12.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You must have a Discord account, Internet, a microphone, and a computer or phone. You will also need a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and a d100, or an online dice roller.
What Noah Micah brings to the table
I focus on roleplaying first and foremost, and when combat does happen, I make it as challenging as possible to make it feel rewarding and to inspire players to think of creative solutions. I also do this to encourage players to brainstorm ideas together, I want to encourage teamwork and sharing the spotlight by doing this. While I mostly follow the system's rules, I will always value rewarding player creativity and story over the rules.
Homebrew rules
Since I value Rule of Cool, I will likely have different homebrew rules or decisions come up during play. I do let players drink a potion as a bonus action, though any other hard and fast homebrew rules I cannot think of at this moment. Feel free to ask me during session 0!

Safety
How Noah Micah creates a safe table
I will discuss possible triggering things that will happen in this campaign during session 0. I will also send all players a link to a Lines and Veils document of things that may come up that you can answer you do not want included in the campaign or you are fine with allusions to in the campaign. During the game, if something comes up that I did not account for in the document, please say or type "line" or "veil" and I will adjust accordingly. After every session there will also be time to unwind and talk about how we feel, along with a break during every session. NOTE: Sexual assault will NEVER be included in my games, and I do not tolerate players that try to include that. I also do not tolerate players being sexist, racist, transphobic, queerphobic etc to each other.
