About the adventure
Stranger Things: Welcome to the Hellfire Club invites you to gather the gang, crank the volume to eleven, and finish the campaign Eddie left behind. In this collaborative 3–5 player session you’ll step into four of Eddie’s lost adventures each one hotter, stranger, and more dangerous than the last. Expect gnarly monster fights, eerie mysteries, and moments that flip your world upside down. This table is for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned roleplayer or brand-new to tabletop games, I’ll guide you through character creation, teach the 2024 D&D ruleset as we play, and share the Eddie-style tips to make every scene feel cinematic. The tone blends pulse-pounding horror with 80s heart: neon maps, retro handouts, and a soundtrack that makes every encounter feel like a mixtape. Bring your friends, snacks, and sense of adventure. We’ll emphasize teamwork, player choice, and a satisfying conclusion your decisions determine how Eddie’s final campaign finishes. Expect a mix of tactical combat, investigation, and roleplay moments that reward creativity and bold moves.

About me
Hobbits and dragons are forever entwined in my imagination tighter than Elven chainmail. Games like EverQuest and FirstQuest sparked my love for roleplaying, showing me that storytelling could be so much more than rolling dice and letting the computer do the math. These fantasy worlds taught me not to judge by appearances; even a grimy goblin might offer riddles that lead to powerful treasures if you’re willing to listen. I spent much of my youth in the basement of a local hobby and gaming store, where I discovered that games could unite people from all walks of life. The stories we told were often fantastical, but the friendships and shared memories were deeply real bonds that have stood the test of time. That passion led me into live-action roleplay, where I cast, wrote, and played in genres ranging from Vampire to Sci-fi. Over a decade ago, as in-person meetups became harder, I embraced online communities like Roll20.net and later Discord. These platforms made roleplaying more accessible and gave me firsthand experience with internet culture, humor, and the evolving expectations of how games should be run. Now, I’m excited to roll dice with this community, share stories, and forge new connections. Let’s make some unforgettable memories one adventure at a time.

Creating your character
We’ll build characters together at the start of Session 0 (or before the first session if you prefer). Characters begin at level 1 and will reach up to level 6 by the finale. I’ll provide pre-generated options and a quick-build path for new players.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Create a free Discord account and join the game server; if playing online, have Roll20 account ready. Bring a microphone and a stable internet connection. If in-person, bring snacks and comfy chairs—this is a social, cinematic experience.
What The Teal brings to the table
Maps, retro handouts, themed props, ambient music, and a clear Session 0 to set expectations. I run with evocative descriptions, optional character voices, and a focus on collaborative storytelling. I’ll also provide a short primer on the rules so new players feel confident.
Homebrew rules
Light, optional tweaks to speed play and boost cinematic moments: streamlined skill checks for investigation, a “Rule of Cool” bonus for creative actions, and a simple cinematic crit system. All house rules will be explained in Session 0.

How The Teal creates a safe table
How I keep the table safe and comfortable We’ll run a clear Session 0 covering tone, boundaries, and expectations. I use Lines and Veils and X, N, & O to set limits, offer breaks, and provide aftercare/debriefing when scenes get intense. I welcome private check-ins and will pause or adjust content on request.
