About the adventure

Step into a nexus of knowledge and discovery! -Survive interplanar University life! -Stress over imaginary classes and quizzes!! -Get into trouble and adventures with your classmates! Strixhaven is a University broken into Five Colleges. Players will start as first year students taking their introductory classes, meeting new friends (player and NPC alike), picking Extracurriculars or Jobs, and getting into mischief! This is a very Roleplay heavy setting, it is not your traditional combat focused dungeon crawl, though there are instances of combat. Players can play any official classes and races and 3rd party races with approval. Players do not have to play spell casters, but each will get a few cantrips and a 1st level spell. Players will also get a Focus which has an extra perk to it!

About me

Hello! My name is Leland Vaughan although I usually go by Candlemoth online. I love the medium of RPGs and I'm excited to use this platform to play lots of different game systems that I haven't tried yet and am dying to jump into. I've been DMing and playing for somewhere around 12 years and when I started I never thought I'd be able to get paid to do what I love like this. I read constantly and I'm very interested in what Kurt Vonnegut called 'The Shape of Stories'. In that vain, I'm always looking to bring a unique and personalized experience to even pre-made adventures. I've also created my own RPG system that I'll be running on here and with any luck, publishing in the next few years. Check out what games I'm running and let's jump into something together! Feel free to message me if you've got requests for games or times!!!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation will be done on Roll20 during the Session 0. I have access to the books in the system and will share my compendium with the players. Third party content can be used with GM approval.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have working Internet Access, a Mic, Discord account, Roll20 account, and webcam is optional. They should read over the details of the game and discuss with their fellow players on the Discord what they are looking to play and get from the adventure as well as build their character's concept.

What DM Candle brings to the table

I'll be bringing the books, music, assets, maps, and other resources on Roll20 along with years of experience with DnD and Roll20.

Safety

How DM Candle creates a safe table

Players will discuss and agree to limits at Session 0, but for the most part this game will be PG-13. After any session players can talk together as a group or privately with me if they have any issues with the content or anything else.
