About the adventure
Istanbul is built on broken dreams. It still reels from the crusaders' fires of 1204, which brought the Toreador Michael the Archangel's Dream of Constantinople crashing down. It still bears the psychic scars of the shattering of the Ottoman Empire's dream in ignoble defeat. Yet, Istanbul still stands, despite itself. A city bigger in size and more populous than New York. It is a center of juxtaposition as the new city rises toward the sky, dwarfing the old city's ancient history. New dreams flood the Elysia of Istanbul as the rising ancilla and neonate vampires position themselves against the hoary elders that harbor old dreams of glories past. The battle for the city's soul is waged in an eternal struggle fought night by night and block by bloody block. Are you here to proclaim your own dream, or to watch the city burn?

About me
Over 25 years of storytelling experience. My main focus is Vampire the Masquerade v5. I enjoy role-play-driven narrative engagements. I am skilled at both lore light for beginners, and lore heavy for the more experienced players.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Characters will be made in cooperation with the Storyteller before game via Discord conversations. Characters will be expected to be Neonate made from the book. v5 nbooks. I prefer giving my players meatier characters, so I provide a slight above-the-book XP boost to be discussed at character creation. I am open to using just about any rules from any of the v5 books for character creation with appropriate justification.
What to expect

What Astriarch brings to the table
As a storyteller, I am here to facilitate your character's growth both in success and defeat. I am a play the dice where they lay kind of ST, believing that when a roll is necessary it should be consequential. That being said, I prefer narrative drive in a story and only call for rolls as needed to enhance the action. I am a "yes/and" storyteller... I prefer to take suggestions and offer consequences that are player-driven and effects are tailored and character-specific. I have all of the Vampire the Masquerade books from Second Edition to v5. We will be playing by v5 rules, supplemented by Lore from older editions. There will be minimum homebrew in my games. When I homebrew I will make it clear to the players. The Rule of Cool is in effect!

How Astriarch creates a safe table
Safety is important to me. Horror is a huge component of my games and will be touching on many mature topics. I want to make sure at the outset that players are comfortable while characters are horrified. We will work together in session 0 to set out lines and veils and ensure that these are adhered to in gameplay by both me as the storyteller and the other players. After each game where I hold a de-brief session. We will discuss what went well, what went poorly, I will take suggestions, and we will discuss any bleed that players may be feeling. It is also a time to give Kudos to your fellow players!
