About the adventure
They say that Thedas is on the verge of a fifth blight. A supernatural taint that seeps out of the deep roads and poisons the land, withering plants and infecting the soil. Worse, with each blight come the Darkspawn, twisted, violent beings who lay waste to cities and towns in their path. In Ferelden the Darkspawn have been seen across the land, emerging from their hidden places in the Deep Roads. Where the Korcari wilds meet southern Ferelden the land is dying. Still, desperate times bring with them opportunities for those brave enough to seize them. When your small band of adventurers answers the call of Arl Neruda to escort his children back to his stronghold, it sets you on a path that you never imagined. Whether it is for good or for ill will depend on the choices you make. Welcome to Thedas.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I have been a Games Master since the mid-1980s, during which time I have run numerous different RPGs and rule systems. I like systems that are smooth, quick to learn, and easy to play while still feeling polished and fleshed out. I have written RPG material professionally for the AGE Creator's Alliance, Frightshow Classics and my own indi RPG company "Gethsemane Games". My games aim to promote a sense of wonder in fantasy and run the gamut from whimsical to dark often drawing on European folklore and Fairytail elements to imerse my players in fantastic adventures they will remember for years to come.

Creating your character
Characters will be generated using the "Buying Abilities" (Option 2) method and 10 points to spend on abilities, described on pg 12 of the Dragon AGE RPG. If you aren't familiar with the system, don't worry, the GM will talk you through character generation over Discord before your first session, or you can ask for a pre-generated character if you prefer.
All Dragon Age character classes are suitable for this campaign, which will have a mix of social, role-playing and combat encounters. The character's choices will have meaningful effects on the unfolding adventures.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a Roll20 account (the free account option will suffice) and a Discord account (again, the free option will suffice) to play this game. You will need a computer and a microphone, as we will use Discord for voice chat and Roll20 to play the game.
What Bryan F Irving brings to the table
You can expect an interwoven, multi-layered campaign where your choices have important consequences and will help to shape the emerging story and campaign. The Dragon Age system leaves plenty of room for GM rule interpretation, and my rulings will be fair and aimed at helping us all weave a memorable, fun experience with lots of opportunity for role play, action and adventure, but be aware that character death is a real possibility in the harsh world of Thedas.
