About the adventure
Monsterhearts is set in a small town with all the tropes and themes of YA supernatural romance books, movies, and shows. Think Cemetery Boys, Teen Wolf, Warm Bodies, Twilight. I like to play with the tropes of the genre and enjoy both slowburn romances and messy hookups. It's roleplay/narrative focused with some combat (cause you have to be able to have the moments of two love interests fighting over the person they like and/or a polycule coming together to defend their hometown). The game will always start with safety tools.

About me
I have a lot of experience with Powered by the Apocalypse games and specialize in romance and horror. I decided to start GMing because I really wanted to play Monsterhearts and no one was running it so I found my own group and everyone has been having a blast. I have found my GMing niche and I am really excited about running more games for people. There are other PbtA games I am open to running and have the books for, such as Apocalypse Keys, Monster of the Week, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, and Bluebeard's Bride.

Creating your character
Character sheets on Roll20 with some information repeated on Discord for ease of access (such as character's conditions and strings). They can be created either during session 0 or beforehand.

Preparing for the session
Microphone needed. Minimal rules reading required beforehand, I'm good with teaching and people learning as we go. Try to have character ideas before session 0, and have them fully made before session 1.

How Vanessa creates a safe table
A link to an anonymous consent checklist will be sent out before any sessions to establish lines, veils, wishes, etc. The results will be posted in a channel on Discord so anyone can view them at any time. Also, during gameplay X cards, pausing, taking breaks, etc. are always on the table. I kept the content warnings minimal because the only thing guaranteed is sexual content. Everything else is determined by player and GM comfort level.
