About the adventure

What if your TTRPG game became a famous novel? 📖 TTRPG to BOOK 📖 As a professional writer, I am offering both my services as a GM and as an author. We will craft the story together and play it as a TTRPG campaign. Meanwhile, I will write it as a fantasy novel. As a player, you will own 10% of the book's authorship, meaning that your name will be on the cover and you'll earn royalties if the book sells well! 🔥 FULL FANTASY EXPERIENCE 🔥 Not only a book—you still get the complete fantasy TTRPG experience! - Epic campaign with mystery, investigation, exploration, and combat. - Leveling up and developing your character. - Immersion and exploration in a fully-fledged fantasy world. - Memorable adversaries. - And anything else you want! ✨ PLOT ✨ I have 7 plot lines that could serve for the TTRPG-to-book scheme. We will explore them beforehand to settle on your preferred option. They all happen in the same setting, but they range in diverse topics such as war, dark intrigue, social-political intrigue, cozy Ghimli-like, oniric/faerie-like, romance, pirates, and others. See the 7 plot lines below. 💲 NOTE ON PRICING 💲 The price of the session is particularly high because it includes the costs of all the writing I must do behind the scenes to transform our TTRPG experience into a readable book.

About me

I'm Kels, a fantasy writer, board game creator, and your soon-to-be favorite GM (hopefully!). I started running games when I was 11 yo, and I’ve been doing it ever since, for 22 years now. I GM Dungeons & Dragons, World of Darkness, or my own game Heroes of Darkness (a mix of the two). With a background in social sciences and a passion for anthropology, history, and linguistics, I love creating nuanced settings and immersive stories. Let’s roll some dice and tell a great story together!

Character creation

Creating your character

As your Playing Character will also be the protagonist of the novel, we will work intensely on its background, motivations, personality, goals, and weak points. We will do that while playing: The first sessions will be focused on a discovery of who your character is and how they behave.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

🎤 Microphone Required 💜 Discord Required 💻 Webcam Suggested ⏰ You'll need some 30 minutes for character creation. The Character Creation Itinerary should be completed at least 1 hour before the game starts.

What DMKels brings to the table

- Extensive worldbuilding associated to my novels and other work. - Ambient music. - Character voices. - Strong emphasis in narration: prologues, scenes, time-lapses, etc. - 20+ years of experience in ttrpg and fantasy writing.

Homebrew rules

We will use a indie system, Arcanum Sublime, which is specifically designed to help us get into "book mood". The system contemplates (1) inner-life aspects of the character, such as introspection, feeling, and ethics; (2) social aspects such as camaraderie, and care for others, and (3) destiny-related aspects that help make your character more heoric and "main-character-like" if needed. It is a wonderful system and I'm happy for you to try it.

🧡 7 PLOT LINES 🧡 This are the 7 Plot Lines currently available to play this game. Some are described in more detail than others. 1.- THE FALCON’S GAMBLE – Game of Thrones with dwarves and elves across the Iron River region. Several temporal lines following a multi-generational conflict, with war and arcane mystery as driving forces. 2.- THE SYNDIR LEGACY – The crime-laden city of Devilport from the perspective of a fallen noble family; a cross-generational epic about the transition from Feudal Nobility to Urban Aristocracy. Topics: Commerce, early capitalism, political intrigue, high stakes, classist societies, urban design, family drama. 3.- BLACK CREST ACADEMY – Learn arcanism in the infamous, ill-reputed institution, the only magic academy by the Devil Sea. 4.- PIRATES!!! – Only ships with arcanists on board sail the Devil Sea. Folklore has it that the Devil Sea is populated by otherworldly creatures that would drown anyone who can’t magically protect themselves. I’m of a simpler idea. Every other ship, your enemies, carries mages on deck. Are you gonna sail without them? ‘Cause I’m not. 5.- REBELLION – Mine slavery, revolts, taverns, bards enticing the populace to rebel against the unfair treatment of mine slaves and against their lords. 6.- THE FIFTH DEITY – Secret Cult of Lunule, and old forgotten Goddess that fits nicely into the current cardinal pantheon –and some claim it holds everything together. 7.- AURORA – I’ve always wanted to write a book with that title. Just make a (great) character whose name is Aurora and we will work it out from there.
