About the adventure

Deep in the Canadian wilderness and close to Great Lakes lies the rustic settlement of Sault Ste Marie, lit by the pale glow of magical luminescent crystal lights. Life here has always been precarious but predictable: narrow streets echo with footsteps, markets bustle beside rivers, and tree flourish upwards like spears. Yet a creeping unease stirs beneath the streets. Whispers echo through empty corridors, and impossible structures twist in view. The town itself feels alive and it is starting to whisper secrets no one was meant to hear. You are drawn into the heart of these anomalies, a reluctant seeker in mystery. With every discovery, the boundary between reality and illusion blurs, and your mind strains under the weight of truths best left buried. The fate of the country and perhaps the world beyond rests on uncovering the source of these aberrations before the darkness fractures everything. Where do you find yourself in this plot: Streetwise Settler or Investigator – knows the streets and secret passages, distrusts authority. Mage or Artificer – studying arcane anomalies, may be tempted to experiment with the artifact. Cleric or Inquisitive Priest – trying to understand the spiritual/mystical corruption, possibly connected to the lost souls.

About me

Hello, my name is Andrew, and I am a Dungeon Master. I have been playing D&D for over 10 years and have been a DM for half that time. I have a passion for running intense horror campaigns, crafting stories filled with tension, mystery, and psychological dread. Whether it's gothic nightmares, cosmic terrors, or unsettling folk horror, I love immersing players in eerie, suspenseful worlds where fear is just as powerful as any monster they face.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place in Session 0 and players will begin the adventure at level one. We will be using D&D 5e rules, but whatever 2024 materials are currently available will override the 2014 sources. Please limit character race, class, and background selection to what's currently available in the official 2024/2014 material, and your characters will be ported onto or created on foundry vtt.

Safety

How Andrew creates a safe table

my table will be a safe place for everyone to engage in expressive and creative gameplay. Bigotry or harassment in any form is not tolerated. Please be respectful to one another! Players who prove themselves to be incapable of this will be removed. I believe strongly in integrated gameplay and collaborative worldbuilding, but first and foremost: this is a game, and therefore it should be fun! I accommodate varied gameplay preferences with a satisfying blend of roleplay, combat, and puzzle-solving.
