About the adventure
Barovia is a land that remembers. The mists do not simply trap you they reshape you, pulling at your past, your regrets, and the parts of yourself you tried to forget. Beneath a dying sky, villages rot in quiet despair while something ancient watches, patient and certain that you will break long before you escape. This is a cinematic retelling of Curse of Strahd, focused on character-driven storytelling, emotional consequence, and slow-burning horror. Your backstories will not sit in the background they will be woven directly into Barovia itself. NPCs remember your choices. The world reacts. And the longer you stay, the harder it becomes to tell whether you are fighting the curse… or becoming part of it. My style as a DM leans heavily into atmosphere, tension, and narrative weight. Expect meaningful roleplay, recurring character arcs, and moments where silence matters as much as action. Combat is present and dangerous but never the only answer. This table is for players who enjoy storytelling, immersion, and investing deeply in their characters. This game is ideal for players who: Enjoy gothic horror and tragic narratives Want their character choices to have lasting impact Are comfortable with emotional themes and slow-burn storytelling Are looking for a long-term, consistent campaign experience Barovia will test who you are and by the end, it will decide what remains.

About me
Hello awesome peeps, Name is Callesa and I fell in love with TTRPG since 2014. I'm by default a gamer, board game enthusiast, miniature painter, and shiny math rock collectors. Just like the majority of you, D&D was my first system but I'm also passionate with some other cool system such as Starfinder, City of Mist, Ryuutama, and Marvel Multiverse. In my table, I'm flexible enough to balance between RAW (rule as written) and rule of cool. I encourage player doing cool stuff but I also like to keep the table without too much of a chaos. Currently I'm residing in Jakarta, Indonesia but it didn't stop me to play with some of the people around the globe. By playing TTRPG I forged a long-lasting friendship with fellow players and DMs here, and I would love to share the magic. To introduce the joy of playing TTRPG and making friends along the way. I hope I can sit in the table with you soon. Cheers

Creating your character
Players are welcome to create their own characters if they already have a concept in mind. Feel free to bring any hero you’d love to play I'll help make sure everything fits the campaign and guide you through the process if you're new to the game. If you'd prefer to jump straight into the adventure, there will also be premade characters available that you can choose from. These are ready-to-play heroes designed to fit the story of Curse of Strahd, so you can start playing right away without worrying about building a character from scratch. Both options are completely fine the goal is simply for everyone to start the adventure comfortably and have fun together.

What Callesa brings to the table
What I provide is a welcoming and collaborative space where we can simply have a good time telling a story together. I’ll guide the game so both new and experienced players feel comfortable, handling the rules and pacing while you focus on bringing your character to life. This campaign follows a cinematic retelling of Curse of Strahd, drawing you into the mist-shrouded land of Barovia a place shaped by memory, loss, and the ever-present gaze of Strahd von Zarovich. The story leans into emotional storytelling and character-driven moments, where your backstory and choices are woven directly into the world. I bring NPCs to life with distinct voices and personalities to make every interaction feel grounded and immersive, while adding my own creative twists to the module so even familiar scenes feel fresh, personal, and memorable. The tone balances tension and intimacy where quiet moments matter just as much as the dangers you face.
Homebrew rules
From levels 1–4, I provide a narrative safety net known as Dark Gifts. When your character meets their demise, death does not have to be the end. Instead, you may choose to accept a Dark Gift an unknown power that pulls you back from the brink, returning you to life… at a cost. These gifts are not free. They may alter your character in subtle or irreversible ways shaping your body, your mind, or even your fate within Barovia. Each choice carries weight, and what saves you now may haunt you later. In the land ruled by Strahd von Zarovich, even death is a negotiation.

How Callesa creates a safe table
We’ll start with a Session 0 to align expectations, tone, and comfort levels before the campaign begins. I’ll also share a simple document for Lines & Veils, so everyone can communicate boundaries clearly and safely. During the game, we’ll use X & O Cards through Roll20, allowing anyone to quickly signal if something feels uncomfortable or if they’d like to check in. The goal is to create a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to enjoy the story together.
