About the adventure
A simple one-shot suitable for players of any experience level. Whether this is your first time playing D&D or your hundredth, this adventure has something for everyone. Intrigue, exploration, and deadly combat combine to make this well-rounded adventure feel like a sandbox in only a single session. Each playthrough will feel different, with no set ending that must be reached. Instead, the players will provide the main thrust of the story as the Harvest Festival unravels its secrets around them. Great for lovers of mild horror, mystery, and player-driven storytelling!

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello everyone! My name is Alex and I have been DMing for over 20 years. I strive for my table to always be an open, safe space. I specialize in onboarding newer players, so if you're just finding RPGs, my games are right for you! I am proficient in D&D 5e, Apocalypse World, Mörk Borg, Tales from the Loop, and Troika!. I look forward to meeting you!

Creating your character
Please bring a fully created 3rd Level character using the 2024 version of the D&D 5th Edition rules. Alternatively, there will be pre-built characters available to anyone who prefers to use them. If you would like to use a pre-built character, please let me know at least one day before the game so we can ensure you have full understanding of your character. When creating your own character, please use the Standard Array or Point-Buy for your ability scores. Please use only options available in the Player's Handbook, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and Xanathar's Guide to Everything. Please do NOT use any setting-specific books such as those set in Wildemount or Strixhaven (including the Sword Coast supplement, even though we will be playing in Forgotten Realms).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
When you sign up for the game, I will shoot you a message with the discord server that we will be using! This will be a theater-of-the-mind style game, so no virtual tabletop will be necessary.
What Alex Chase brings to the table
I do like to do various character voices, so expect that! I like to try sound effects as well though I am not always as good at them. Overall, my goal is to create an immersive and cinematic experience for you. It is likely we will have ambient music as well as long as we can set it up such that it does not interfere with player speech in the discord. This particular one-shot will not have much in the way of tactical combat, but there is combat possible. Some of the encounters can veer quite deadly if not properly addressed, so be open to your character making death saving throws! That said, it is not a meat grinder by any means. I tend to lean toward rule of cool over rules written, but more so I am simply open to adjudicating on the fly. Coolness is sometimes a factor but my style embraces the openness that TTRPGs create to allow me to say "yes" to players more often.

How Alex Chase creates a safe table
Safety Tools are super important! We will be using Lines/Veils and X-Cards. For my games, you will never see: - Animal Abuse - Sexual Violence - Violence toward Children When you sign up for the game, please direct message me if you have any Lines or Veils. If you do not send me a message, I will assume you do not have any. During the game, if at any time the content veers into a territory that makes you uncomfortable, simply make an X with your hands, type X in the chat, or verbally say "X Card." We will skip past that content and pick back up at the next logical moment. If I am unsure what has caused the X-Card, I may speak to you privately to ensure we do not trip any triggers moving forward. My priority is your fun and safety! Please let me know if there is ever anything I can do to make your play experience more comfortable!
